Precautions
1. Do not drink strong tea while taking this, as the tannins in tea can destroy the active components in Xi Yang Shen (Western Ginseng). It is recommended to wait 2-3 days after taking Xi Yang Shen before drinking tea, and it is best to avoid coffee as well, since coffee can also affect the efficacy of Xi Yang Shen;
2. Do not consume with radishes. Xi Yang Shen is used to tonify Qi (warm and replenish original Qi), while white radish is known to drain Qi (clearing heat and detoxifying, cooling effects). These two foods are contradictory; not only should they not be consumed together from a nutritional perspective, but they can also cause allergic reactions or even poisoning. From a TCM pharmacological standpoint, white radish should not be consumed with many tonics, and in some cases, eating white radish while ill can significantly worsen the condition, such as during a cold or when experiencing blisters.
