Follow me to learn about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) health preservation.
Do you often have cold hands and feet? Do you have dark spots on your face or menstrual pain that makes you roll in agony?
Or do you feel exhausted as if you have been “drained” even though you didn’t stay up late? These could be signs that your body is saying, “I have blood stasis!”
Don’t panic! Today’s “foolproof” health guide uses simple language and super easy movements to teach you how to eliminate blood stasis without medication or acupuncture.
Spend just 10 minutes a day massaging your abdomen and moving your body to drive away 90% of blood stasis!
1. What is Blood Stasis? Understand it in 3 sentences!
In TCM, “blood stasis” simply means: blood is congested!
Imagine: the blood vessels in your body are like roads, and the blood is the vehicles traveling. If there is garbage (metabolic waste) on the road, traffic lights are malfunctioning (qi and blood are not flowing smoothly),
or the driver is fatigued (the body is weak), the flow of traffic will slow down or even come to a standstill—this is blood stasis!
2. 5 Signs of Blood Stasis: How many do you have?
✅ Dull skin: dark spots on the face, purple lips, heavy dark circles
✅ Cold body: cold hands and feet, especially knees and fingertips
✅ Painful to the point of tears: menstrual pain, headaches, joint pain, like being pricked by needles
✅ Easily fatigued: feeling tired even after 8 hours of sleep
✅ Irregular menstruation: dark menstrual blood with clots, irregular menstrual cycles
If you have more than 2 signs, it indicates your body is in distress!
3. The 3 Fastest Movements to Eliminate Blood Stasis! Can be done lying down
Movement 1: Abdominal Massage—Give your belly a “cleansing SPA”
Effect: Activates gastrointestinal peristalsis, unblocks abdominal qi and blood, specifically treats constipation, cold abdomen, and menstrual pain!
⏰ Time: Once in the morning and once in the evening, 5 minutes each time (do not do during menstruation)
Specific Steps:
1️⃣ Lie flat and relax: bend your legs slightly, rub your palms together to warm them (do not use cold hands to massage your belly!)
2️⃣ Locate the navel: place your hands on top of each other, palms facing the navel, with the left hand on the bottom for men and the right hand on the bottom for women
3️⃣ Circular massage: first massage clockwise for 50 circles (to promote bowel movement), then counterclockwise for 50 circles (to relieve diarrhea)
4️⃣ Focused pressing: if you feel any hard lumps or painful spots in your abdomen, gently press and massage in circles to release them
⚠️ Note: Do this 1 hour after meals! The pressure should be gentle, like petting a kitten’s belly, do not apply too much force!
Movement 2: Butterfly Stretch—Specifically unblocks lower body congestion
Effect: Unblocks pelvic qi and blood, improves leg numbness, edema, and gynecological issues
⏰ Time: Do for 3 minutes every night before bed
Steps:
1️⃣ Sitting position: place a pillow under your buttocks, with the soles of your feet together and knees opened to the sides
2️⃣ Up and down flapping: hold your ankles with both hands, moving your knees up and down like butterfly wings
3️⃣ Deepen the stretch: slowly lean your body forward, feeling the stretch in the inner thighs (go at your own pace!)
💡 Tip: Breathe out while doing this, imagining the stasis flowing from the roots of your thighs to the soles of your feet!
Movement 3: Push the Liver Meridian—Disperse heat and eliminate stasis, specifically for irritability
Effect: Liver qi stagnation = blood stasis accelerator! Unblocking the liver meridian improves mood and reduces acne
⏰ Time: Push each leg 50 times daily
Steps:
1️⃣ Find the route: a line from the groin (seam of pants) to the inner knee
2️⃣ Fist push and rub: use the base of your palm or fist to push from the groin towards the knee
3️⃣ Stop at painful spots: linger and massage for 10 seconds at any sore spots (pain indicates blockage!)
🔥 Advanced version: After pushing, apply a hot towel to the inner thigh for double the effect!
4. Lazy Person’s Eat + Drink + Sleep Regimen to Drive Away Blood Stasis
1️⃣ Eat the right foods—Make the blood “smooth”
**Must-Eat List** | **Blacklist** |
Hawthorn (in water, porridge) | Ice cream, iced milk tea |
Brown sugar ginger jujube tea | Fried and barbecued foods |
Stir-fried black fungus with eggs | Sashimi, raw fish |
Rose tea | Coffee (no more than 1 cup a day) |
🍲 Recommended Recipe: Blood Activating Warming Soup
Ingredients: 5 red dates, 8 longans, 10 slices of dried hawthorn, 3 slices of ginger, 1 piece of brown sugar
Method: Boil all ingredients in water for 20 minutes, drink a bowl morning and evening, and feel warm all over!
2️⃣ Drink enough water—Blood stasis fears “hydration”
❌ Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink water! It’s best to drink a cup of rose tea (to soothe the liver and relieve stagnation) every afternoon at 3 PM
3️⃣ Sleep well—Must lie down before 11 PM! Staying up late = dumping garbage into your blood!
👉 Recommendations for those with blood stasis constitution:
– Soak your feet 1 hour before bed (water should not exceed the ankles, add mugwort)
– Sleep on your right side to reduce heart pressure
5. Important Reminder! These people should not massage their abdomen indiscriminately
Although abdominal massage has many benefits, be cautious in the following situations:
🔴 Recently had abdominal surgery (within 3 months)
🔴 Pregnant or experiencing heavy menstrual flow
🔴 Tumors or acute inflammation in the abdomen
🔴 Massaging immediately after eating (can cause stomach pain!)
💬 Conclusion
Blood stasis does not form in a day, and do not expect “quick results” in treatment! Spend 10 minutes daily on abdominal massage and movement, combined with proper diet and lifestyle, and you will see changes in a month!
