What is Health Preservation?
One acupuncture treatment that works immediately is called hormones.
Medications that show effects in a few days.
Consistency over a month, two months, half a year, or a year.
Only when there are no side effects can it be called health preservation.
Spending money on treatment is a waste! Spending money on health preservation generates value!
In ten years, those who do not practice health preservation will age ten years, while you remain as you were ten years ago! That is the value!
Investing in health preservation grants you health and happiness!
Spending money on treatment leads to loss of money and happiness, and you will always be plagued by illness!
Health and happiness begin with health preservation!
Health preservation is about preserving life.
During the day, we expend energy, and at night, we restore it. Daytime is for discharging energy, while nighttime is for recharging. If you only recharge 50% at night but expend 100% during the day, where does the other 50% come from? It must be borrowed from the five organs.
🌠 The five organs, referred to as the five stores in ancient texts, are where the essence of the body is stored. This essence is the nutrients stored in the body. If we keep borrowing, the average person will deplete their health in 15 years. When young, you may feel fine, but by your forties or fifties, illnesses will arise.
🌠 Therefore, health preservation is about preserving life.
🌠 Health preservation cannot make you look ten years younger immediately, but in ten years, while those around you age ten years, you will still look the same.
🌠 Health preservation cannot cure your diseases immediately, but in ten years, while those around you may have passed away, you will still look the same.
🌠 Health preservation cannot make you wealthy immediately, but in ten years, while others go bankrupt from medical expenses, you will live worry-free.
🌠 This is not alarmist talk; it is the reality! Health is the greatest wealth in life!
What exactly does health preservation preserve?1Primarily, it preserves Qi and Blood
The most important aspect of human health is “Qi and Blood”. All diseases in our body arise from issues with Qi and Blood. From minor ailments like fever and cold to major issues like tumors and thrombosis, the main cause of these diseases is the stagnation or deficiency of Qi and Blood.
The human body relies on Qi and Blood for nourishment; when Qi flows, Blood flows, and when Qi stagnates, Blood clots. Sufficient Qi and Blood lead to smooth circulation, resulting in health and longevity; otherwise, one is prone to illness. As long as Qi and Blood are harmonious, the body will naturally remain healthy. Thus, the most important aspect of health preservation is nurturing Qi and Blood.
When Qi and Blood are balanced, the body remains healthy, and diseases do not arise; when Qi and Blood are unbalanced, strange diseases emerge, causing immense suffering. All health issues stem from the stagnation or deficiency of Qi and Blood; all bodily issues must be addressed by ensuring smooth Qi and Blood flow and replenishing Qi and Blood.
As long as we ensure the smooth flow of Qi and Blood, we can prevent all diseases; as long as we replenish Qi and Blood, the body’s self-healing ability will activate and function. Qi and Blood are the foundation of life; all organs, bones, and even skin and hair depend on the nourishment of Qi and Blood. Without Qi and Blood, there is no life.
2Health preservation emphasizes smooth meridian flow
So, how can we ensure the smooth flow of Qi and Blood without reversals? This must be addressed through the meridians. We know that the pathways for Qi and Blood flow are the meridians; if Qi and Blood do not flow smoothly, they will become blocked. Therefore, a key term in TCM is “smoothing the meridians”.
The meridians in the body function like the internet. The main meridians are deeply embedded in the body, controlling the various organs; the collateral meridians are small branches of the main meridians, connecting to the surface of the body. Although they are invisible and intangible, they form a vast network. Acupuncture points are like stations on this network, and Qi and Blood are the trains that travel between them, always running without stopping. If they stop, only a doctor can act as the network administrator.
3Health preservation values the balance of organs
The five organs and six bowels are the hardware of the human body. The organs have Yin and Yang distinctions; the five organs are Yin, while the six bowels are Yang.
The five organs refer to the heart, lungs, spleen, liver, and kidneys. They are responsible for the transformation and storage of essence and Qi, as well as housing the spirit and will. Although their physiological functions differ, the various functions of the five organs are interdependent and mutually restrictive, maintaining coordinated balance in physiological activities. The six bowels refer to the gallbladder, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, bladder, and san jiao (triple burner). Their common function is to receive, digest, and excrete waste.
The various physiological functions of the five organs and six bowels are interdependent and mutually restrictive, maintaining the coordinated balance of physiological activities in the body. Generally, even when diseases occur, the body can cope adequately. However, not all diseases can be cured by the body alone; some require medication, surgery, or psychological interventions.
In most cases, external pathogenic factors and medications play a role in the occurrence and treatment of diseases, but the body’s own mechanisms play a major role. TCM believes: “When righteous Qi is present, evil cannot invade.” If the body has sufficient righteous Qi, evil Qi cannot disrupt the balance of Yin and Yang within.
The organs have a synergistic ability to support each other; if one function is impaired, the body’s Qi mechanism will lose balance, leading to disharmony of Yin and Yang, Qi and Blood, and the inability to circulate properly, resulting in illness.
All organs require the nourishment of Qi and Blood and the smooth flow of meridians to function normally; sufficient Qi and Blood depend on healthy organs to provide them. Therefore, the foundation of health lies in Qi and Blood; to maintain health, one must ensure sufficient Qi and Blood, smooth meridians, and balanced organs.
