This product is the dried mature seeds of the plant Ziziphus jujuba from the Rhamnaceae family. It is mainly produced in Shaanxi, Guangdong, and Hubei. The seeds are harvested in autumn when the fruits are ripe, dried, and impurities such as fruit shells and stems are removed. They are then dried and used raw.
