Wu Wo Therapy Turning Inward
Returning to Nature
Since ancient times, many people have enjoyed TCM guiding techniques and meditation, aiming for health, disease prevention, longevity, and mental cultivation, or seeking spiritual powers and the Dao.People choose different times for meditation, with very few opting for the Yin Hour (寅时, 3:00-5:00 AM). The essential practice of Zhou Dao Techniques (周道术) is meditation during the Yin Hour, which is supported by energetic conditions, has a long historical tradition, and is based on systematic theoretical foundations and long-term practical evidence. The profound Zhou Dao Techniques, which have been passed down for seven thousand years, represent the path of external sanctity and internal kingship, the foundation of longevity and health cultivation, aiming for the unity of body and mind, harmony between humanity and nature, and the natural way of virtue.Shakyamuni referred to this as “wisdom.”Laozi referred to it as “virtue.” The character “Zhou” in Zhou Dao symbolizes and totems the Zhou Dao Techniques.“Zhou” represents circular movement, embodying pure Yang, and signifies the harmony of heaven, earth, and humanity, which is the triad of Shen Jing (肾精, Kidney Essence), Xin Ye (心液, Heart Fluid), and Zheng Qi (正气, Upright Qi). The character “Zhou” opens on one side, implying sublimation. The complete meaning is: When the pure Yang body is established on the foundation of harmony between heaven, earth, and humanity, the human body will be uplifted, and thoughts will be sublimated..“Zhou” equals “Dao.” “Zhou” is the essence of “Dao,” and “Shu” (术) is the method. Practitioners seek the “Dao” through “Zhou.” The Dao is the eternal law of cyclical nature between heaven and earth; as long as we obtain and maintain it, we will endure, which is called virtue, and virtue is to attain the Dao.The character “Dao”: the two dots above and a horizontal line represent Yin and Yang. How to recognize Yin and Yang, and discern them? The character “Zi” (自) below tells us to rely on ourselves. The character “Zou” (走) in ancient China meant to run, so the left side indicates the meaning of running.Combined, it means: The method to discern Yin and Yang must be pursued by oneself. Therefore, the ancients referred to the Dao techniques as Yin Yang Techniques..【The Essence is Reverse Five Elements Health Cultivation】Ordinary health cultivation essentially follows the path of the Five Elements in mutual generation and overcoming, while Zhou Dao Techniques advocate for reverse Five Elements health cultivation, emphasizing meditation during the Yin Hour, aligning with the Dao of Yin and Yang, following the nature of the Five Elements, nourishing the kidneys, replenishing marrow, cultivating both life and essence, and achieving health and longevity.During meditation at the Yin Hour, once entering the fetal breath state, the reverse Five Elements automatically activate, and the seven orifices of the body—Bai Hui (百会, Hundred Meetings), Yu Zhen (玉枕, Jade Pillow), Ming Tang (明堂, Bright Hall), Ni Wan (泥丸, Mud Ball), Qi Hai (气海, Sea of Qi), Hui Yin (会阴, Meeting Point), Wei Lou (尾闾, Tailbone)—open in a state of non-action and relaxation, allowing the body to connect naturally with the energies of heaven and earth. When in a state of tranquility and non-action, without thoughts, all diseases subside, and the body’s upright Qi rises, enhancing bodily energy, leading to a true transformation from within outwards.【History of Zhou Dao Techniques】Zhou Dao Techniques originated from the ancient Fuxi Dragon, later developed through the Yellow Emperor, Yao, Shun, Yu, Xia, Shang, and Zhou, and were documented during the Western Han Dynasty. The Yellow Emperor inquired about the Dao at Kongtong Mountain and acquired the art of health cultivation, living to 118 years. Wu Xian (a minister during the reign of Emperor Yao) used Zhou Dao Techniques as medicine for Yao. Emperor Yao abdicated to Shun at 90 years and passed away at 118. Emperor Shun lived to 100 and abdicated to Da Yu.In ancient times, people commonly lived to a hundred years without decline, as recorded in the Huangdi Neijing (黄帝内经) and Shiben (世本) from the pre-Qin period.By the early Han Dynasty over 2000 years ago, the ancient thoughts of “Zhou Dao” or “Yin Yang Techniques” had significantly developed, becoming the governing philosophy of the time. The concept of Zhou Dao Techniques has a long history, traceable back to the ancient Fuxi Dragon period, or even further, revealing the mysteries of the human body and the universe, unlocking the secrets of the unity of heaven and humanity.Based on the ability to transcend, introspect the human body, and observe the realities of multiple worlds in the universe, the understanding of Zhou Dao Techniques is as follows:1. Zhou Dao: Great Zhou Tian and Small Zhou Tian2. Upper Dantian: the entire cranial cavity.3. Middle Dantian: the entire thoracic cavity.4. Lower Dantian: the entire abdominal cavity.5. Small Zhou Tian: the entire human body.6. Great Zhou Tian: the entire universe. In fact, the entire human body is a Zhou Dao.The Upper Dantian, Middle Dantian, and Lower Dantian in Zhou Dao correspond to the concepts of Upper Jiao, Middle Jiao, and Lower Jiao in TCM.Small Zhou Tian, also known as the Zi Wu Zhou Tian (子午周天), generally refers to the energy circulation route of the Ren and Du meridians, which is the operational route of the Small Zhou Tian. Once the Small Zhou Tian is opened, the Ren and Du meridians are connected, and the human body will generally not experience illness, with rapid recovery of vitality. However, for ordinary people, the Ren and Du meridians are usually not connected, and under specific conditions, there may be intermittent and brief communication of the Ren and Du meridians, which quickly separates again due to the combination of physical conditions, mental state, and various opportunities. Many people, after leaving the womb, have never connected their Ren and Du meridians throughout their lives. As for the Great Zhou Tian, that is a situation of divine empowerment; once the Great Zhou Tian is connected, extraordinary abilities in the human body become commonplace. The degree of connection and the sustained state of the Great Zhou Tian determine the extent of a life’s capabilities and the depth of practice. The Great Zhou Tian, also known as Mao You Zhou Tian (卯酉周天), is an extraordinary phenomenon; it can be said that once the Great Zhou Tian circulation is opened, all the miraculous events in mythological stories become mere technical skills. The operational mechanism of the Small and Great Zhou in the human body is a fundamental truth of life; regardless of the sect, there is no essential difference, only different names. No matter how it is defined or named, it is essentially discussing the same matter.Different names arise from the same source, all referred to as mysterious, and the mystery is even more mysterious.About the Daoist Zhou Dao Techniques and the Yin Hour Meditation System1. The Yin Hour is the most tranquil timeIn the twelve hours of the day, the Yin Hour generally refers to the time between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM Beijing time.During the Yin Hour, most people are in deep sleep, which is the quietest time. Meditating at this time makes it easy to enter tranquility.2. Yang Qi rises and Yin Qi descends during the Yin Hour, where Yin and Yang intersectDuring the Yin Hour, Yang Qi rises, and Yin Qi descends, where heaven and earth intersect. At the Yin Hour, the sun rises, and the Yang energy of the sun needs to be replenished, making it unsuitable for cultivation.3. Pure Yang during the Yin Hour, with no Yin material present, ensuring no deviationDuring the Yin Hour, pure Yang prevails, and no Yin material exists, making it the most suitable time for human cultivation, ensuring high safety.4. Meditation during the Yin Hour greatly enhances the ability to transport nutrientsFor the human body, the Lung meridian is in command during the Yin Hour, governing all vessels. At this time, the body’s vessels gradually awaken and receive the nutrients transported by the lungs. Once nourished, a person becomes revitalized. This time is not suitable for exercise, as the vessels have just received nutrients and have not yet digested them. If one exercises, it can easily injure the vessels. Most people are generally in deep sleep during the Yin Hour, and the circulation of Qi and blood is at its slowest, so the ability to transport nutrients is extremely limited, and the capacity to nourish the vessels is also very limited. If one has already consumed too much during the day, and the nourishing ability during the Yin Hour is very limited, the body’s expenditure will exceed consumption, leading to the gradual onset of illness.By meditating during the Yin Hour, our body remains in a deeply relaxed resting state, but the Qi and blood begin to circulate rapidly, greatly enhancing the ability to transport nutrients. This allows the vessels to be fully nourished, providing sufficient capacity to support daytime consumption, ensuring our health and vitality.5. Nourishing Kidney Essence, benefiting the brain and marrow, achieving reverse agingThe Earthly Branch of the Yin Hour contains the heavenly stems of Jia, Bing, and Wu, corresponding to the Gallbladder, Small Intestine, and Stomach. According to the interior-exterior relationship, it relates to the Liver, Heart, and Spleen. If one drinks a cup of warm water before meditating during the Yin Hour, then begins to meditate, the Spleen, which governs blood, the Liver, which stores blood, and the Heart, which pumps blood, all awaken and begin to function.Additionally, with the Lung meridian in command, all four internal organs begin to function, re-digesting and absorbing the nutrients in the body, nourishing the innate Kidney Essence. As the Kidney Essence is nourished, it begins to benefit the brain marrow. When the brain marrow is replenished, the bone marrow regenerates, and the body begins to move towards a younger state.Among the twelve hours, only the Yin Hour can achieve the above conditions; no other time possesses this capability. The effects of meditating at other times cannot match those of meditating during the Yin Hour. The Daoist Zhou Dao Techniques’ meditation during the Yin Hour is a complete system; a slight deviation can lead to significant errors. Incorrect methods of Yin Hour meditation will inevitably yield incorrect results. If the method is not correct, not only will one fail to achieve the desired benefits, but it may also be counterproductive.During the long-term practice of Yin Hour meditation, many physical and psychological reactions may occur; if one does not understand the underlying reasons and face them correctly, it is easy to give up, thus failing to achieve the intended effects of the Daoist Zhou Dao Techniques’ Yin Hour meditation.Long-term practice of Zhou Dao Techniques can lead to increasingly abundant vitality, smoother meridians, and a more peaceful and serene mind, ultimately achieving reverse aging.——————-
