Generally, there is no specific saying about what to eat for the fastest and best blood nourishment. However, patients can appropriately consume foods such as pig liver, red dates (Hong Zao), and pig blood, or medications like Fu Fang A Jiao Jiang (Compound Ejiao Syrup), Jian Pi Sheng Xue Ke Li (Spleen Strengthening Blood Nourishing Granules), and Lu Jiao Bu Xue Ke Li (Donkey-Hide Gel Blood Nourishing Granules) to achieve better blood-nourishing effects.
1. Foods
1. Pig Liver: Pig liver contains a high amount of iron, which is a major component in the synthesis of hemoglobin and can assist in blood nourishment.
2. Red Dates: Typically have the effects of tonifying Qi and strengthening the spleen, regulating and replenishing Qi and blood, and calming the mind. They can enhance spleen and stomach function, providing comprehensive regulation.
3. Pig Blood: Rich in iron, consuming it appropriately helps replenish the iron ions needed in the bone marrow, thus playing a role in blood nourishment.
Additionally, one can also consume foods like sesame, lychee, and carrots; it is important to maintain a balanced diet.
2. Medications
1. Compound Ejiao Syrup: Usually made from Ejiao, red dates, cooked Rehmannia (Shu Di Huang), Huang Qi (Astragalus), and hawthorn (Shan Zha), it can tonify Qi and nourish blood, and is suitable for conditions of both Qi and blood deficiency, dizziness, palpitations, insomnia, poor appetite, and anemia.
2. Spleen Strengthening Blood Nourishing Granules: Typically have the effects of strengthening the spleen and stomach, nourishing blood, and calming the mind. They are particularly suitable for improving children’s spleen and stomach weakness, as well as iron deficiency anemia in adults with both heart and spleen deficiency.
3. Donkey-Hide Gel Blood Nourishing Granules: Main ingredients include Ejiao, Huang Qi, Dang Shen (Codonopsis), cooked Rehmannia, and Dang Gui (Angelica). Their primary functions are to nourish blood, tonify Qi, and regulate menstruation, making them suitable for improving symptoms like pale complexion, scanty menstruation, dizziness, and fatigue due to prolonged illness with Qi and blood deficiency.
Additionally, one may consider medications like Ren Shen Gui Pi Wan (Ginseng and Spleen Pill), Ba Zhen Wan (Eight Treasure Pill), and Shi Quan Da Bu Wan (Ten Complete Great Tonifying Pill); however, it is recommended to choose appropriate medications under the guidance of a TCM physician based on specific symptoms.
