Understanding Yin Deficiency and Constipation

Many people suffer from constipation and may choose to use laxatives. However, frequent use of laxatives can harm the body, irritating the intestinal wall, reducing intestinal sensitivity, and leading to habitual constipation. Some may consume cold fruits like dragon fruit, bananas, and watermelon to relieve constipation, which may initially be effective but later lose efficacy. The root cause of constipation lies in spleen deficiency, qi deficiency, and insufficient bodily fluids. When cold fruits damage the spleen and stomach, it can worsen constipation. Especially for those with dry, hard stools resembling sheep droppings, addressing the issue requires nourishing Yin and moistening the intestines.
