Bai Hui (Hundred Meetings) PointThe Bai Hui point is located at the very top center of the head, where the line connecting the two ears meets the midline of the head. Lightly scraping the Bai Hui point can help dispel wind and cold, and awaken the spirit.
Scraping Method: Centered on the Bai Hui point, move up and down 5-10 cm, scraping in all four directions (front, back, left, right) from top to bottom, 10-20 times in each direction. Feng Chi (Wind Pool) PointThe Feng Chi point is located in the depression between the sternocleidomastoid and trapezius muscles, which is the area you reach when pushing back from the earlobe. Wind can easily invade the body through the Feng Chi point; conversely, scraping this point at the onset of a cold can dispel wind and cold.Scraping Method: Move up and down 5-10 cm at the Feng Chi point, scraping from top to bottom, 10-20 times, and do the same on the opposite side. Lightly scraping the Yin Tang point can relieve nasal congestion caused by a cold, but be careful as the facial skin is delicate; apply Gua Sha cream before scraping. The scraping method for Yin Tang is to start from the Yin Tang point and scrape upwards to the hairline, 10-20 times, with better results when lying on your back. 2. Gua Sha for Cough
Scraping the back points can prevent and treat cough. Da Zhui (Great Vertebra) PointWhen the head is in a forward-bending position, the highest point of the bone is the Da Zhui point, which is at the seventh cervical vertebra! Scraping the Da Zhui point can clear heat and dispel cold!
Scraping Method: At the Da Zhui point, apply Gua Sha oil and scrape gently in the area 5-10 cm above and below the point, 10-20 times until Sha appears. Fei Yu (Lung Shu) PointThe Fei Yu point is located at the third thoracic vertebra, two finger widths from the left (or right) side of the patient. Scraping the Fei Yu point can clear the lungs and resolve phlegm.
Scraping Method: At the Fei Yu point, apply Gua Sha oil and scrape gently in the area 5-10 cm above and below the point, 20-30 times until Sha appears. 3. Gua Sha for Fever The scraping locations for children with fever are different from those for adults! For Children with Fever
For children, scrape the area from the wrist crease to the elbow crease, gently scraping 100 times, but remember to apply Gua Sha oil as children’s skin is delicate! For Adults with Fever
The Ming Men (Gate of Life) point is located behind the navel, and the Shen Shu (Kidney Shu) points are located two finger widths on either side of the Ming Men. Scrape from the Da Zhui point to the Ming Men, and from the Fei Yu point to the Shen Shu points for effective fever reduction! But don’t forget to apply Gua Sha oil!
