Winter Warm Yang Patches: Preventing Yang Deficiency Before Illness

The main qi of winter is cold, and the cold nature can cause stagnation, leading to poor blood circulation. Additionally, cold pathogens can easily harm Yang qi. Without Yang qi to warm the body, insufficient qi and blood circulation can result in a series of discomforts. Therefore, warming Yang and invigorating blood is an appropriate winter health preservation method for the general public. The organ associated with winter is the kidney. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the kidney is considered the source of life and the foundation of congenital essence. A strong kidney function can help the body adapt to the harsh changes of winter; otherwise, it can lead to metabolic disorders and illness. Thus, the focus of winter health preservation is on “nourishing the kidneys and preventing cold.”

Our hospital’s Preventive Medicine Center has launched winter warm Yang patches, suitable for those who are sensitive to cold, have cold hands and feet, experience stomach cold and abdominal pain, or suffer from cold pain in the lower back and knees, particularly those with Yang deficiency constitution. If you are sensitive to cold, you might want to try the winter warm Yang patches.
