In the blink of an eye, Daoyin has been available for five years, helping thousands find a suitable exercise method.Many individuals with health issues have consistently practiced, such as this student who has persisted with Daoyin for 900 days. What surprising changes might occur?Let’s take a look at the sharing.
Summary of 900 Days of Practicing Daoyin: I am 50 years old. In middle school, I suffered a neck injury from a forward roll, and later, due to improper sitting posture while working, exposure to cold, liver stagnation, and spleen-stomach disharmony, I developed cervical and thoracic hyperplasia and scoliosis.
For many years, I have suffered from dizziness, headaches, chest tightness, rapid heart rate, cold hands and feet, and various body pains. At 40, due to health reasons, I quit my job.
Since then, I have seen many TCM practitioners, taken herbal medicine, undergone acupuncture, massage, yoga, and rehabilitation, trying multiple times, spending money and time without significant results. By the end of 2021, my health issues worsened; I couldn’t eat, felt anxious, had insomnia, and lost 6 pounds in a week, which was alarming.
What was even more frightening was that the hospital had no good treatment options. In February 2022, by chance, a sister who helped me with body conditioning inadvertently recommended Daoyin from Teacher Xiao Yi.
At first, I didn’t pay much attention, but one afternoon, feeling chest tightness, I happened to catch the teacher’s live session demonstrating the crossing of the arms behind the back to open the chest, and I felt it was effective after practicing along.
So, I started practicing Daoyin on March 2, 2022, and have continued to this day; even after the end of 2022, I still persist in combing my hair and skin every day; I didn’t stop even while traveling. I am grateful for the pandemic, and even more grateful to the teacher for sharing this practice, and to myself for not giving up.
The greatest change Daoyin has brought me is a shift in mindset, accepting my imperfections, reconciling with myself, and my heart has become softer; my body is no longer stiff.
My back and neck have straightened and are slowly returning to their proper position; my anxiety and chest tightness have improved, and my hands and feet are no longer cold; my eating and sleeping have also greatly improved.
My once trapped body finally feels a sense of freedom. The teacher once said, “The discomfort of scoliosis feels like being unable to escape,” and when I heard that, I cried.
The teacher also said, “Daoyin can cure scoliosis, but it requires at least a year, or even three years.” Today, after two and a half years of practicing Daoyin, I have seen the rewards.
The teacher said, “Persisting in Daoyin will lead to becoming a better self,” and this is true; I am gradually becoming the person I want to be.
In these two and a half years, during the 900 days of practice, there are two points I want to share with fellow practitioners:
First, believe in Daoyin and believe that you can be healed;
Second, practice slowly, without forcing your consciousness to influence the movements. As I am about to start the second level of Daoyin practice, I hope my experience can help more people!
