1. Stagnation Causes Quick Grain Exchange
Etiology: Liver Qi stagnation, obstruction of Qi and blood flow, insufficient Kidney Qi, and inability of Kidney essence to consolidate, leading to quick grain exchange.
Manifestations: Lower back soreness, leg weakness, chest tightness and pain, dry throat, dizziness, frequent urination.
Reference: Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction (Blood Mansion Eliminating Stasis Decoction) + Gu Zhen Decoction (Consolidating True Decoction).
Functions: Soothe the liver, regulate Qi, open the meridians, eliminate stasis, tonify the kidneys, and consolidate essence.
2. Difficulty Lifting the Head Indicates Blood Deficiency
Etiology: The liver governs the tendons, which include the muscles; the liver also stores blood. If the Qi mechanism is obstructed, the blood cannot fill the tendons, leading to weakness and difficulty lifting the head.
Manifestations: Dizziness, blurred vision, numbness in the limbs, difficulty sleeping at night, vivid dreams, pale complexion.

Functions: Regulate Qi mechanism, invigorate blood.
3. Softness and Weakness Indicate Yang Deficiency
Etiology: Obstruction of the meridians, blockage of Yang Qi’s upward movement, inability to warm the body, stagnation of blood flow, leading to weakness.
Manifestations: Cold hands and feet, joint pain in the limbs, dizziness, headaches, frequent urination.
Reference: Dang Gui Si Ni Tang (Angelica Four Reversal Decoction).
Functions: Warm the meridians, disperse cold, nourish blood.
