Every person is inherently endowed with Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Waterthese five powers, which only differ in their distribution of strength. If these five powers can be balanced, one will surely succeed in all endeavors.
Ancient Chinese believed that all things in the world are composed of five major elements, namely the Five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each life, thing, environment, and event contains these five elements. Each element corresponds to a specific power. The Five Elements represent five types of powers. The five powers are:(Wood) Penetrating Power, (Fire) Diverging Power, (Earth) Bearing Power, (Metal) Invoking Power and Severing Power, (Water) Transforming Power and Storing Power.
Every person is inherently endowed with these five powers, but their distribution varies. If these five powers can be balanced, one will surely succeed in all endeavors.Alternatively, one can use their strong abilities to compensate for their weak abilities, thus balancing their achievements and happiness in life.“The five powers” reveal aspects of a person’s physical health, character, destiny, thinking patterns, ways of doing things, and the magnitude of their achievements.(Wood) Penetrating Power – Corresponding to the energy of the “Liver”:
Like a laser that penetrates obstacles to illuminate the underlying layers, like a wise person who can see through your heart with a glance, like an authoritative leader who can rally support with a call, like a savvy advertiser who knows how to touch consumers’ hearts, like a task executor who perseveres until the goal is achieved…Corresponding to the company’s “Business Department”: negotiation, business development, market research, product development, sales, employee training, client communication, and visits.People with strong Wood:have abundant liver qi, bright eyes, good vision, strong combat ability, determination to achieve goals, and are full of compassion.People with weak Wood:have poor liver health, weak immunity, and poor metabolism. They easily get “stuck” in conversations and can stray far off-topic.They are hesitant to delve into the core issues, find it easy to get along with others but hard to build deep relationships, struggle to gain trust, and lack firm beliefs, making their plans easily changeable.
(Fire) Diverging Power – Corresponding to the energy of the “Heart”:
Like sunlight shining on the earth without constraints or obstacles, like a super orator who can radiate infectious energy without speaking, like the “life of the party” in a company who can always liven up the atmosphere, like a flexible designer who can conjure up endless creativity…Corresponding to the company’s “Planning Department”: publicity, planning, copywriting, hosting, reviewing, reform, etc.People with strong Fire:have good heart health, a rosy complexion, a rhythmic speaking pace, are generous, and do not sweat the small stuff. They have an open mind, rich imagination, and divergent thinking, and are generous with money.People with weak Fire:may have poor heart health, lack vitality, and confidence. They tend to be overly concerned with trivial matters, struggle to think positively, and find it hard to radiate their energy joyfully;they may work hard but fail to gain attention and respect, retreat easily when faced with minor difficulties, and prefer to stay within their comfort zones…
(Earth) Centering Energy – Corresponding to the energy of the “Spleen and Stomach”:Like the solid earth that can bear all things, like a strong warrior who can withstand hardships, like a person with a broad mind who can embrace everything, like a healthy person with strong vitality who cannot be destroyed by disasters…People with strong Earth:are energetic and steady in their work, able to coordinate affairs, take on heavy responsibilities, and support others. They often hold management positions in companies or are in logistics roles, or are entrusted with important tasks. They are the ones who manage company resources.People lacking Earth:may have poor spleen and stomach health, insufficient qi and blood, and digestive issues. They have weak overall energy and are hesitant to easily entrust themselves. They may be unstable in their work and lack credibility.Even if some of the other four powers are strong, their overall balance and coordination abilities are poor, making them prone to becoming “marginalized” in society. They are suited for supportive roles.
(Metal) Invoking Power – Corresponding to the energy of the “Lungs”:
Like a lush tree that naturally attracts birds to nest, like a compassionate sage who can silently attract devoted disciples, like a charismatic man/woman who always meets understanding partners, like an artist whose works resonate deeply with fans, like a feng shui site that attracts fortunate talents to reside…Moreover, Metal signifies reform, being just, upholding justice, and possessing leadership qualities. Thus, people with strong Metal attract more people to their side.Corresponding to the company’s “Administrative Department”: recruitment, human resources, finance, asset allocation, position management, etc.People with strong Metal:have good lung function, healthy hair without dryness, long and flexible fingers, a love for music and an understanding of rhythm, are quick to respond to social situations, speak with confidence, have strong friendships, and are filial.People lacking Metal:may have poor lung health, possibly experiencing uneven breathing, weak immunity, and are prone to colds and fevers. They may be busy with external matters but find it hard to establish stability, easily swayed by external temptations, unable to recognize their true needs, and may be sensitive and hurt in interpersonal relationships, leading to self-isolation.They may struggle with social interactions and fail to gain affection or support.
(Water) Transforming Power – Corresponding to the energy of the “Kidneys”:
Like a marsh that transforms ocean water and pure streams, like an artist who transforms imagination into works, like a hero who can turn sorrow into motivation in difficult times, like a public relations person who can smoothly resolve conflicts, like a practitioner who transforms emotions into new energy to elevate their state of being…Corresponding to the company’s “Customer Service Department”: public relations, after-sales service, reception, logistics, etc.People with strong Water:
have good kidney qi, thick black hair, white and neat teeth, and a healthy body that possesses true energy, able to transform unfavorable potential energy into favorable potential energy.
People lacking Water:
may have poor kidney health, easily experiencing lower back pain, leg weakness, or poor excretion.
They may be straightforward in thinking, struggle to articulate their thoughts, and have difficulty managing their emotions. They may be impulsive, lacking patience to solve problems, and find it hard to internalize knowledge during learning.
“Qi and Luck” can actually be changed.
Essentially—because everyone is imperfect, but the inherent energy also gives you the power to change and balance yourself. However, many people do the opposite of what their energy nature requires—because that is precisely what they lack, or to meet external needs for balance.
For example, a person lacking Fire (with weak Diverging Power) may work in publicity, while a person lacking Metal (with weak Invoking Power) may become a mediator or consultant. Yet in their work, they are utilizing their inherent energy traits to achieve corresponding external expressions or accomplishments.
Therefore, it is indeed possible to change oneself:
Externally, you can balance what you lack through targeted body conditioning, attention to health, etc.; or through yoga, meditation, introspection, etc., to internally coordinate and balance your overall energy.
To truly “supplement” what you lack, it can only be achieved through diligent practice to perfect oneself.
