Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a treasure of the Chinese nation, possessing unique and significant value in treating diseases and promoting health. Nowadays, more and more people are choosing TCM. However, many fear taking Chinese medicine due to the common saying, “Good medicine tastes bitter.” In reality, Chinese medicine can be made into pills, allowing for a more palatable experience.
What are Pills?
Pills refer to solid preparations made from finely powdered medicinal materials or extracts combined with suitable binding excipients, forming spherical or quasi-spherical shapes. They are one of the traditional forms of Chinese medicine, including honey pills, water pills, paste pills, wax pills, and concentrated pills.
Advantages of Pills
Long-lasting effects. Traditional pills dissolve slowly in the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration, providing prolonged therapeutic effects, often used for chronic disease treatment.
Ease of consumption. After being made into pills, the unpleasant odors of the medicinal materials can be masked, enhancing patient compliance.
Convenient for storage and transport. The surface is dense and smooth, making them less prone to moisture absorption, which is beneficial for storage.
