IIntroduction:He Shaoqi: Chicken Blood Vine (Jixueteng) is an effective medicine for increasing white blood cells (WBCs) (click the title to read directly). Do you remember Shaoqi’s article? It turns out that Chicken Blood Vine not only nourishes blood but also increases red blood cells. This simple formula is indeed a good method for patients with blood deficiency anemia! Astragalus and Chicken Blood Vine for Nourishing Blood
Author/Wang Jun
Duo, female, 37 years old. Due to anemia, she was hospitalized for over ten days. Symptoms such as dizziness and fatigue improved slightly. Due to financial issues, she was discharged and sought treatment with TCM. Her complexion was pale, tongue was pale, pulse was soft, and she experienced occasional numbness in her limbs and dizziness. Considering her family’s situation, I prescribed: 30g of Astragalus (Huang Qi), 60g of Chicken Blood Vine (Ji Xue Teng), and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar (self-provided). Decoction for oral administration, 1 dose per day, divided into 3 servings, for a total of 14 doses, all symptoms resolved.
Feng Chi’s note: Anemia is a disease name based on blood test indicators showing a decrease in hemoglobin, with many causes that should not be confused with the TCM concept of blood deficiency. If anemia presents with symptoms of blood deficiency, then tonifying Qi and blood can also treat anemia.
