A Key Tonic Herb - Shu Di Huang (Rehmannia Glutinosa)

Shu Di Huang is the dried tuber of Rehmannia glutinosa, processed through specific methods. It is sweet and slightly warm, entering the liver and kidney meridians, with a soft and moist texture. The liver stores blood, and the kidneys store essence; essence and blood share the same source. Shu Di Huang excels in generating blood and is a key herb for blood tonification, used to treat various symptoms of blood deficiency, such as pale complexion, palpitations, dizziness, and tinnitus. Shu Di Huang enters the kidneys, providing excellent nourishment for kidney yin, commonly used for symptoms of kidney yin deficiency such as lower back and knee weakness, tidal fever, night sweats, and internal heat leading to thirst. Shu Di Huang nourishes blood and yin, benefits essence, and fills the marrow, thus it can also be used to treat dizziness, tinnitus, and premature greying due to liver and kidney deficiency and blood essence deficiency.
