Ermen (TE21) Point
Ermen: Opens the orifices and clears heat, activating the collaterals.
The ear is the area where Qi and blood act, and the term “men” refers to the portal of entry and exit. The name Ermen indicates that the stagnant dampness in the Sanjiao (Triple Burner) channel flows into the body through the ear canal after cooling down.
This point receives the dampness Qi transmitted from the Jiao Sun point, which transforms into cold rain and flows into the body through the ear canal. This point serves as the portal for the Qi and blood of the Sanjiao channel entering and exiting the ear, hence the name Ermen.
