Fire needle therapy has a history of thousands of years in China. It involves rapidly inserting a needle that has been heated to red-hot into acupuncture points or affected areas to treat diseases. As recorded in the “Ling Shu: Official Needle”, “Cui ci zhe, ci fan zhen ze qu bi ye”; and in the “Qian Jin Yi Fang”, it states, “For treating boils and abscesses, the needle must be extremely hot.” This method has the effects of warming the meridians and dispelling cold, and it is widely used in dermatology.
1 What are the effects of fire needle therapy?

3 Precautions for fire needle therapy?
1. Do not touch the needle holes with water within 6-8 hours after the fire needle treatment, and avoid eating raw, cold, spicy, or hot foods;
2. Fire needle therapy is not suitable for critically ill patients, pregnant women, or those who are overly fatigued, hungry, or intoxicated;
3. Avoid showering before the local redness and swelling have subsided to prevent infection.
4. Mild redness, itching, and slight swelling or pain after fire needle therapy are normal phenomena. Cooling oil can be applied for relief, but do not scratch to prevent infection.
