A general term for acupuncture and moxibustion
It is a unique treatment method in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
In recent years, as people’s health needs continue to rise
Acupuncture has become increasingly popular
However, when acupuncture is mentioned
Some people still feel uneasy
With needles piercing into the flesh
In and out, rotating a few times
Then multiple needles inserted at once
……
So
Is there a type of acupuncture
That is painless and can treat various“difficult conditions“
Indeed, there is!!!
Today, we will introducethe “miracle” of
Fire Needle Therapy (Hao Huo Zhen)
Q:What is Fire Needle Therapy? Is it using fire or needles?
A: In simple terms, Fire Needle Therapy involves heating the tip of an acupuncture needle until it is red hot, then using the heated needle to prick local skin lesions. This TCM acupuncture treatment method combines the effects of both acupuncture and moxibustion due to the heat stimulation from the red-hot needle.
Q:Doesn’t that mean my skin will be pierced? Won’t it hurt?
A: The needles we commonly use are fine needles (Hao Zhen), with a diameter of only 0.25mm. The depth of the needle insertion is very shallow, and the needle holes are small, with a quick frequency. Moreover, it is only performed on the lesions. Some patients with thick, itchy rashes may even request multiple insertions, which feels like scratching an itch and is less painful than drawing blood. During the procedure, there may be slight pain, which varies depending on each person’s pain threshold, but overall, this pain is generally tolerable. During treatment, the ignited alcohol cotton ball is brought close to the skin lesion but kept at a distance, so the flame does not touch the skin, so there is no need to worry.
Q:Will Fire Needle Therapy leave marks?
A: Our Fire Needle Therapy primarily involves shallow pricking, and the range and depth of the needle insertion usually do not exceed the lesions themselves, so there is no need to worry about additional scars from this treatment.
Q:
What is the effect of Fire Needle Therapy on skin diseases?
1. Pain Relief: It dispels cold and dampness, warms the meridians, promotes qi and blood circulation, and facilitates fluid movement, thus alleviating pain. This is the pathological mechanism of Fire Needle Therapy for treating pain due to cold, damp, or wind pathogens. Therefore, Fire Needle Therapy can treat swelling and pain caused by cold, damp, or wind, such as herpes zoster, postherpetic neuralgia, and abnormal skin sensations.
2. Itch Relief: It unblocks the meridians, allowing qi to flow smoothly, thus dispelling wind and relieving itching. Fire Needle Therapy not only alleviates pain but also effectively relieves itching, making it suitable for various skin diseases characterized by itching. Therefore, it has good efficacy for neurodermatitis, eczema, urticaria, acne, and other difficult skin diseases.
3. Numbness Relief: Qi is the commander of blood; when qi reaches the blood, nourishment follows. Fire Needle Therapy promotes yang to reach the meridians, assisting in the transformation of qi, thus alleviating numbness and treating various diseases characterized by numbness.
4. Remove Stasis and Corruption, Drain Pus: It promotes tissue regeneration, invigorates the vital energy, enhances qi and blood circulation, and accelerates skin renewal. It has immediate effects on certain skin diseases and surgical conditions, such as acne, boils, furuncles, and abscesses.
Q:What does it feel like after Fire Needle Therapy?
A: After Fire Needle Therapy, the local skin lesions may have small raised bumps that gradually subside after a few minutes. There may be brief mild itching or pain that disappears after a few minutes; these are stress responses after the fire needle treatment and are short-lived and within tolerable limits. After 1-2 days, the needle holes will begin to scab and gradually fall off.
Q:
Are there any precautions after Fire Needle Therapy?
A:1. Avoid water; do not let the treated area come into contact with water for 6-24 hours after Fire Needle Therapy, depending on the size of the wound.
2. Avoid scratching; the treated skin lesions should not be scratched to prevent infection. If you experience related itching or pain, feel free to consult our TCM treatment department.
