Cupping
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) recognizes that the fast-paced lifestyle and high stress levels of modern individuals have led to an increasing number of people in a sub-healthy state. From the perspective of TCM theory, this sub-healthy population generally falls under the category of Yang deficiency (阳虚). So, how can we regulate Yang deficiency? Today, we will explore the concept of Warming Yang Cupping.
1
What is Warming Yang Cupping?
Warming Yang Cupping integrates cupping therapy, moxibustion, and herbal hot compresses. It primarily stimulates acupuncture points through heat to promote the flow of Qi and blood, harmonizing Qi and blood, and warming the meridians.
At the top of the cup, a smokeless moxa stick is ignited, allowing the heat to penetrate and replenish Yang; the lower part utilizes the principle of negative pressure to expel turbid Qi and eliminate dampness and cold. Warming Yang Cupping overcomes the limitation of traditional cupping, which can only dispel cold but not replenish heat, effectively warming the original Yang, dispersing cold, transforming dampness, unblocking meridians, and strengthening the spleen to eliminate dampness. It is suitable for those with Yang deficiency, cold body constitution, excessive dampness leading to obesity, and menstrual irregularities.

Effects of Warming Yang Cupping
Dispelling Cold and Transforming Dampness
Warming Yang Cupping utilizes warm medicinal substances and negative pressure principles to deeply dispel cold and transform dampness, improving symptoms related to excessive dampness and cold stagnation. It can alleviate joint pain and muscle stiffness caused by damp-cold conditions, helping patients regain comfort.
Benefiting Qi and Activating Blood
Through warm stimulation and medicinal penetration, Warming Yang Cupping can activate the circulation of Qi and blood, promoting blood circulation to achieve the goal of benefiting Qi and activating blood. It can improve symptoms of pain and numbness caused by blood stasis.
Warming the Middle and Nourishing the Stomach, Strengthening the Spleen and Eliminating Dampness
When applied to the abdomen, Warming Yang Cupping can warm the middle, disperse cold, relieve pain, and strengthen the spleen and benefit the stomach. It can alleviate abdominal pain and diarrhea caused by spleen and stomach deficiency-cold, as well as bloating and stomach pain due to spleen and stomach weakness. Its damp-eliminating effect also helps improve discomfort caused by excessive dampness.
