Forehead fire marks with spots:
Three horizontal lines indicate (deep horizontal lines on the forehead suggest high mental stress; those with spots may have cardiovascular issues, and should prevent hypertension and diabetes.)
Chest and breast reflected between the eyes; (if the corners of the eyes are bluish, it indicates possible breast hyperplasia or breast cancer.)
Eyebrows divided indicate liver issues: (if there are spots at the eyebrow tips, it suggests liver problems.)
The inner sides connect the heart, brain, and lungs; (if there is a vertical line between the eyebrows, it indicates lung issues; if there are both horizontal and vertical lines, it suggests heart problems.)
The lungs govern skin and open at the nose: (rosacea or enlarged pores indicate lung issues.)
The spleen governs muscles and is reflected at the lip edges; (if the lips have white lines and the muscles lack elasticity, it indicates spleen problems.)
The tip of the nose reflects the spleen and the sides reflect the stomach: (a red tip with large pores indicates spleen issues; redness at the nose wings and nasolabial folds indicates stomach problems.)
The bridge of the nose reflects the liver and the sides reflect the gallbladder; (if there are spots on the bridge, it indicates liver issues; spots on the sides indicate gallbladder problems.)
The liver governs tendons and manifests in the nails: (those with liver issues may have vertical lines on their nails and experience cramps in hands and feet.)
Clearly opening at the eyes; (those with liver issues may have dry eyes and blurred vision.)
The tongue reflects the kidneys and the heart: (the root of the tongue reflects the kidneys; if it is black, it indicates kidney disease; the middle of the tongue reflects the heart.)
The heart opens at the tongue and manifests on the face; (if the tongue has cracks and the face is red with blood vessels, it indicates heart disease.)
The large intestine is primarily at the cheekbones; (if the outer cheekbones are dark or red, it indicates large intestine issues.)
The small intestine is visible within the cheekbones; (if the inner cheekbones are dark or if bags under the eyes appear early, it indicates small intestine issues.)
A clever mouth indicates reproductive health: (if there are spots or wrinkles on the lips, it indicates reproductive issues.)
The philtrum is related to the bladder; (if there are spots or marks in the philtrum, men may have bladder tumors, and women may have uterine fibroids or ovarian cysts.)
The chin area is the kidney zone: (if the chin or ears are dark or have spots, it indicates kidney disease.) The kidneys govern bones and marrow; (those with kidney issues may experience lower back pain, heavy legs, poor memory, dental issues, and erectile dysfunction.)
Opening at the ears connects the meridians; (those with kidney issues may experience deafness or tinnitus.)
The hair reflects kidney health: (those with kidney issues may experience hair loss or greying.)
Facial diagnosis is well understood: (it should be as familiar as a bullet in the chamber.)
Not a deity, but surpassing one. (Skillful practice enhances abilities.)
(1) Observing facial color: A healthy person’s face should be clean, with a rosy and radiant complexion. 1. Yellow: indicates spleen and stomach, poor digestive system; 2. White: indicates lung, respiratory issues; 3. Red: indicates heart and brain vascular issues; 4. Blue: indicates liver and gallbladder, immune system issues; 5. Black: indicates kidney and bladder issues.
(2) Observing the tongue: A healthy person’s tongue is pink. If unhealthy, it can be observed through the tongue: 1. Thick coating indicates poor spleen and stomach; 2. Bluish root indicates kidney issues; 3. Imprints on the sides indicate liver issues; 4. A white tongue indicates heart issues, suggesting insufficient blood supply to the myocardium. Poor blood circulation may show symptoms of anemia. 5. A dark purple tip indicates excessive heart fire, blood stasis, and thick blood; 6. Numerous small red dots on the tip may indicate myocarditis; 7. A blunt tip with a deep groove may indicate diabetes.
<Liver> 1. The gallbladder governs the eyes: those with liver and gallbladder issues may have poor eyesight, with yellowish and cloudy sclera, resembling myopia or astigmatism, and may frequently blink due to weak liver function. 2. Those with poor liver function may have horizontal or vertical lines on their nails, or gray nails. Their veins may be prominent, and they may experience cramps, which Western medicine attributes to calcium deficiency. 3. Those with liver and gallbladder issues may have emotional instability, easily angered over trivial matters. 4. Those with liver and gallbladder issues may crave sour foods, such as hawthorn and mountain apricots, and can eat a lot. 5. Those with liver and gallbladder issues may have a grayish complexion, lacking luster, as if they haven’t washed their face.
Reflex area: The triangular area from the middle of the eyebrows to the tail of the eyebrows is the liver area, and the middle section of the bridge of the nose is also the liver area.
If spots, bumps, red dots, or black moles appear in these areas, it can be concluded that there are liver and gallbladder issues. If someone has very noticeable black spots in these areas, it indicates liver problems, as the face should not have blemishes; for example, children’s faces are clean.
1. If these two areas are dark or have spots, it may indicate fatty liver. 2. If these two areas have acne, it indicates excessive liver fire. 3. If there are spots at the temples, it indicates weakened liver function. 4. If there are spots in the middle of the bridge of the nose, it may indicate excessive liver fire, emotional instability, or menopause. 5. If both areas have noticeable spots and the complexion is dull and unattractive, and the person is relatively thin, it may indicate hepatitis or cirrhosis. 6. If there is a mole in the center of the eyebrows, yellowing of the sclera, and a very yellow complexion, it may indicate hepatitis. Soft, thin nails lacking luster, with vertical lines that are brittle, indicate poor liver function. 8. A face full of freckles may indicate congenital liver function deficiency.
<Gallbladder>
Reflex area: The outer sides of the middle section of the bridge of the nose. 1. If this area has red blood vessels, acne, or bitterness in the mouth upon waking, it indicates mild inflammation of the gallbladder; 2. If there are spots or shadows, it may indicate cholecystitis. 3. If this area has vertical wrinkles or vertical lines when smiling, it indicates gallbladder issues. 4. If there are moles or spots in this area, it indicates congenital gallbladder insufficiency. 5. If you place your right hand under your right rib (the gallbladder is located here), and use your left fist to strike the back of your right hand, if it hurts, it indicates cholecystitis; 6. If the pain is severe, it may indicate gallstones. Those with gallbladder issues may be overweight. 7. If there are noticeable spots or moles under the eyes in the gallbladder area, it may indicate gallstones. Dark circles under the eyes also indicate poor gallbladder health.
<Heart>
Reflex area (1): In the upper third of the forehead to the hairline (around the hairline), 1. If there are acne or discoloration in this area, it indicates significant psychological stress. 2. If there are spots, it indicates heart disease (e.g., myocardial weakness); 3. If there are moles or spots, it indicates congenital heart insufficiency. Reflex area (2) is between the corners of the eyes on the bridge of the nose, 4. If there are horizontal lines or prominent horizontal lines, it indicates arrhythmia or poor heart condition; 5. If the horizontal lines are very deep, and there are also deep vertical lines on the tongue, it may indicate serious heart disease. 6. Those with heart issues may have a face full of red blood vessels, resembling many small insects crawling on the face, indicating poor blood circulation.
Those with heart issues may have a cheerful demeanor, always smiling, appearing pleasant to others, but this expression may be constant regardless of the situation. Their diet may favor bitter foods, such as bitter melon and bitter herbs, as their body requires bitter substances for balance.
Those with heart issues may have a red complexion, but not a healthy red, rather a purplish-red. Facial diagnosis can reveal
<Brain>
Reflex area: Between the two eyebrows, 1. If there are deep vertical lines and redness in this area, it indicates insufficient blood supply to the heart and brain, leading to headaches; 2. If this area is red and shiny, it generally indicates high blood pressure.
The small intestine: Those with heart disease generally have poor small intestine function. Reflex area: Just below the cheekbones, towards the inner side. 1. If this area has red blood vessels, acne, spots, moles, or blemishes, it indicates poor absorption function of the small intestine, often leading to loose stools.
<Spleen and Stomach>
Spleen reflex area: at the tip of the nose, stomach reflex area: at the wings of the nose, the depressions on both sides are the duodenum area. 1. If the lips are pale, lacking color, dry, prone to cracking, it indicates poor spleen and stomach function. 2. Those with poor spleen and stomach function may have loose muscles and lack elasticity. 3. Those with poor spleen and stomach function may often frown, as if deep in thought, when in fact there is nothing to worry about. 4. Those with poor spleen and stomach function may have a yellow complexion; if a person’s face is yellow and they often frown, it indicates poor spleen and stomach function. 5. A red tip of the nose, rosacea, red blood vessels, black spots, or bumps on the nose indicate poor spleen and stomach function. 6. A white tip of the nose, lacking color, especially white, indicates spleen deficiency, which may lead to anemia. A yellow tip also indicates spleen deficiency, with symptoms such as excessive sweating, aversion to wind, fatigue, and lack of appetite. 7. If the nostrils are always dirty, dark, and oily, resembling unwashed skin, or if there are bumps, it indicates poor stomach function.
8. If the wings of the nose are red, it indicates stomach fire, leading to hunger and bad breath. If there are red blood vessels and it is severe, it generally indicates gastritis. 9. If the wings of the nose are grayish-blue, it indicates stomach cold; when shaking hands, you can feel that person’s fingertips are cold, indicating they may have abdominal pain and diarrhea due to wind-cold. 10. If there are spots or moles in the spleen area, it may indicate spleen enlargement; if there are spots and moles in the stomach area, it may indicate ulcers or other lesions.
Pain before meals generally indicates gastritis. Pain one to two hours after meals indicates gastric ulcers, with tenderness in the middle of the abdomen or slightly to the left; pain two to four hours after meals indicates duodenal ulcers, with pain located between the ribs near the heart, resembling a needle prick, and in severe cases, the pain may radiate to the back, with tenderness slightly to the right. Their diet may favor sweet foods, as their body requires sweetness for balance.
<Lungs>
Those with poor lung function may also have nasal issues, such as allergic rhinitis or sinusitis, and are prone to respiratory infections. The lungs nourish the skin and hair; those with poor lung function may have rough skin, large pores, and dull, brittle hair. Their emotions may be melancholic, often worrying and crying over minor issues. Those with poor lung function may prefer spicy foods.
Those with poor lung function may have a pale complexion, lacking color. The lung reflex area is between the two eyebrows and below the lower third of the forehead, specifically at the Yintang area. 1. If this area is red, it indicates recent upper respiratory infections; 2. If this area is dark, especially black, it may indicate disease, and they should seek medical attention promptly. 3. If the middle of the forehead is sunken, with a dull color, or bluish, or has spots, it indicates lung disease and difficulty breathing; 4. If there are pimples, it indicates recent colds or sore throats. 5. If there are moles, spots, or whiteness at the eyebrow area, it indicates pharyngitis, tonsillitis, chest tightness, or lung disease. 6. If there is a bulge above the eyebrows, it also indicates lung disease. Those with poor lung function generally have poor large intestine elimination function. The large intestine reflex area is located just below the cheekbones, towards the outer side, from the eyeball to the outer corner of the eye down to the mouth. 1. If this area has red blood vessels, acne, spots, moles, or blemishes, it indicates poor large intestine elimination function, often leading to dry stools and constipation. 2. If this area has crescent-shaped spots, it indicates constipation or hemorrhoids. 3. If the large intestine area is dark red and uneven, it may indicate colitis.
The intersection of the line below the root of the nose and the line from the outer corner of the eye down is the reflex area for the rectum; if there are spots here, it may indicate hemorrhoids; if this area is red or has white spots, it may indicate potential rectal cancer.
<Kidneys>
The reflex area is at the intersection of the horizontal line from the outer corner of the eye and the vertical line from the middle of the ear down to the chin. 1. If there are bumps or dark spots in this area, it is not due to lack of cleanliness or sun exposure, but indicates poor kidney function. 2. If this area has red blood vessels, acne, or spots, it indicates kidney deficiency, often leading to laziness, and soreness in the lower back and legs. 3. If this area has very deep and large spots, it may indicate kidney stones. If there are recent black moles or bumps on the ears, it may indicate kidney stones. 4. If there are moles or bumps in this area, it indicates congenital kidney insufficiency, which may also lead to soreness in the lower back, legs, and back. 5. Deep crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes and vertical lines near the ears indicate declining kidney function. 6. The chin is the area for kidney soreness. If there are red spots or bumps in this area, it may indicate kidney inflammation; <Bladder> The area on both sides of the philtrum is the bladder area. 1. If this area is red, with red blood vessels, acne, or sores, it indicates bladder inflammation, which may lead to symptoms such as red and yellow urine and urgency. Bladder inflammation may also cause lower back soreness. 2. Wrinkles in the bladder area may indicate kidney atrophy; red acne indicates inflammation, and later black moles may indicate potential disease.
<Reproductive System> Reflex area is around the philtrum and lips. 1. If a woman has moles or spots below her lips, and the chin area is red, it indicates potential issues with the uterus. 2. If a woman has moles or spots around her lips, and the kidney reflex area is also poor; or if a woman’s lips are bluish, dark, or white, the kidney reflex area is also poor, these two situations generally indicate sexual coldness. 3. If there are bumps in the philtrum, it generally indicates uterine issues. 4. If a man has moles or spots around his lips, and the kidney reflex area is also poor, it indicates reproductive system issues. 5. If a man has an uneven upper lip with grooves and vertical lines, it indicates male sexual dysfunction. <Chest and Breasts> The area between the eyes on the slope of the nose is the chest and breast area. (1) If there are moles or spots in the breast area, it may indicate breast hyperplasia or tumors. As people age, kidney deficiency may lead to ear problems and tinnitus. Kidney deficiency can lead to bladder, reproductive system, and gonadal diseases. Any skeletal issues can often be traced back to kidney problems; for example, osteoporosis, bone hyperplasia, herniated discs, and arthritis in the elderly are all caused by weakened kidney function. Those with poor kidney function may have fearful emotions, often feeling scared. They may have a constant sense of fear. If there is a sudden noise or movement, they may be startled. Their diet may favor salty foods, with a particularly strong taste.
Facial Diagnosis Seven Key Verses
To understand the source of a hundred diseases, observe the facial complexion carefully. The five parts and five colors correspond to the five organs, and spots and pigmentation are all evident. If you ask what is difficult about facial diagnosis, the key lies in the areas of concern. The ears reflect the kidneys, the eyes reflect the liver, the lips reflect the spleen and stomach, the nose reflects the lungs, and the tongue reflects the heart. Multiple reflections on the face should be clearly distinguished, with multiple layers to be identified. The face is the seat of the master, with the head at the center of the eyebrows and the tip of the nose. On both sides of the midline, there are multiple reflections, with each ear representing one person. The facial reflections overlap, with distribution patterns mirroring the master. The main colors of the face should be clearly distinguished; for Chinese people, red and yellow are not diseases. Blue indicates liver, red indicates heart, yellow indicates spleen and stomach, white indicates lungs, and black indicates kidneys. Blue indicates wind and fright, red indicates fire, yellow indicates dietary injury, and white indicates deficiency and cold. Dull eyes indicate deficiency of spirit, while bright eyes indicate vitality. A darkened Yintang indicates headaches, red indicates internal heat, and black indicates cold. A red nose indicates spleen heat, while black indicates death; yellow indicates dampness, and white indicates spleen cold. A red left cheek indicates liver heat, while a red right cheek indicates lung heat and phlegm. Nasal congestion and heavy voice indicate wind-cold, while dark circles under the eyes indicate phlegm. The color of the lips indicates yin and yang; red indicates stomach heat, while white indicates cold. The ten methods of color observation should be applied flexibly, determining the relationship of disease colors. Disease colors that promote healing are easier to recover from, while those that conflict with life are harder to sustain. If you understand the seven key verses of facial diagnosis, living to a hundred years is not difficult.
