On the morning of December 19, a grandmother of a young patient visited Panjiang General Hospital, presenting a banner embroidered with the words “Miao Jiu Shen Zhen Yi Bai Bing, De Yi Shuang Xin Chuan Si Fang” (Miraculous Moxibustion and Divine Acupuncture Cure All Illnesses, Virtue and Artistry Spread Far and Wide) to Dr. Wang Wei, the Deputy Director of the Department of General Medicine, in gratitude for her superb medical skills and heartfelt care during the treatment of her grandchild.
It is reported that the patient, Jiang, aged 3 years and 10 months, has had a weak constitution since childhood, frequently suffering from colds and having a weak spleen and stomach, leading to poor appetite. In the past two months, he was hospitalized for repeated fevers and coughs requiring intravenous fluids. Although the fever subsided, the cough persisted. Upon recommendation from a pediatrician, the family sought Dr. Wang Wei for pediatric acupuncture treatment. After the acupuncture, the results were remarkable; the next day, the grandmother exclaimed, “The child finally did not cough last night and slept well. You are our benefactor!” After a few more sessions of treatment, the cough completely resolved. Dr. Wang noted that through acupuncture, Jiang’s spleen and stomach were regulated, his appetite improved, and he no longer experienced recurrent fevers. As his constitution strengthened and immunity improved, he became less susceptible to respiratory infections.
Pediatric acupuncture, also known as “Baby Acupuncture,” is a highly effective and painless method for treating clinical diseases in children, suitable for ages from newborns to 14 years (most effective under 7 years old). The main treatment areas include: digestive system diseases in infants and young children: abdominal pain, bloating, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, picky eating, vomiting, etc.; respiratory system diseases: colds, coughs, pediatric asthma, pneumonia, and unresolved common colds; various dermatitis and eczema; slow growth in children; autism and developmental delays.
A banner is not only a token of appreciation from patients to healthcare workers but also a source of encouragement and trust. It serves as motivation for every healthcare worker to alleviate patient suffering and continuously strive to serve each patient with dedication and without regret! Panjiang General Hospital is committed to better serving the public and safeguarding community health.
