Xuanyun Ning Wan (Dizziness Relief Pill)
Xuanyun Ning Wan is developed based on the comprehensive analysis of the causes and mechanisms of dizziness in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It draws from ancient and classical formulas for treating dizziness, particularly referencing the “Zexie Decoction” from the Han Dynasty’s Jinkui Yaolue and the “Erchen Decoction” from the Song Dynasty’s Taiping Huimin Heji Ju Fang. This formulation aims to strengthen the spleen, eliminate dampness, and resolve phlegm, primarily treating dizziness caused by phlegm-damp obstruction.
Xuanyun Ning Wan selects authentic herbs such as Zexie (Alisma), Bai Zhu (White Atractylodes), Fa Banxia (Pinellia), Chenpi (Dried Tangerine Peel), Fuling (Poria), Gegen (Kudzu Root), Chaihu (Bupleurum), Gouteng (Uncaria), Songjiying (Mulberry Parasitic Plant), Yimucao (Motherwort), Zhiqiao (Bitter Orange), and Shanyao (Chinese Yam). It has the effects of strengthening the spleen, drying dampness, and resolving phlegm. It is used for dizziness, blurred vision, chest tightness, nausea, and abdominal distension caused by phlegm obstruction.
It works by clearing turbidity and opening the orifices, alleviating symptoms such as headache, heaviness in the head, tinnitus, nasal congestion, nausea, vomiting, and occasional phlegm expectoration.
