The Ying Qi flows in the channels, while the Wei Qi flows outside; if sweating occurs, and the Ying and Wei are harmonious, recovery will occur, Gui Zhi Tang is appropriate. (53)

If blood is weak and Qi is exhausted, with the pores open, evil Qi enters and clashes with the righteous Qi, causing pain under the flanks, with alternating chills and fever, and disinterest in food and drink. If the organs are connected, the pain will be below; if the evil is high, the pain will be below, thus causing vomiting. Xiao Chai Hu Tang is the main treatment. (97)
35. If there are symptoms of Chai Hu Tang and purging is done, if the Chai Hu symptoms do not cease, give Chai Hu Tang again, and it will surely cause sweating and resolve the fever. (101)

If there is persistent vomiting, with urgency under the heart, and slight vexation, it indicates it has not resolved; give Da Chai Hu Tang (Major Bupleurum Decoction) to purge, and it will recover. If the exterior does not resolve, it is not yet time to attack; first resolve the exterior. Once the exterior is resolved, if there is still urgency in the lower abdomen, then it can be attacked; Tao He Cheng Qi Tang (Peach Pit Decoction) is appropriate. (106)

In Taiyang disease, after six or seven days, if the exterior symptoms remain, with a weak and deep pulse, and no fullness in the chest, if the person is mad, it indicates heat in the lower jiao, and the lower abdomen will be hard and full, with easy urination; blood will flow down and recovery will occur. This is because Taiyang follows the channels, and the heat is trapped inside. Di Dang Tang (Di Dang Decoction) is the main treatment. (124)

If there is fullness under the heart, and hardness and pain, this indicates chest binding; Da Xian Xiong Tang is the main treatment; if there is fullness but no pain, this indicates distension; Chai Hu should not be used, and Ban Xia Xie Xin Tang (Pinellia Decoction to Drain the Heart) is appropriate.
