1. Mai Xue Kang Capsules
Formula Explanation: The leech (Shuizhi) is bitter and salty, neutral in nature, and can break up blood stasis and remove accumulated blood. It is effective in treating stroke, dissipating masses, unblocking menstrual obstruction, and alleviating pain. Therefore, it can treat stroke, relieve pain, and has good effects in breaking blood stasis and promoting circulation.
Indications: Stroke caused by anger leading to blood stagnation, phlegm, and obstruction of the brain meridians, presenting with hemiplegia, numbness of limbs, facial droop, slurred speech, dark tongue with stasis spots, and wiry pulse; applicable for cerebral infarction with the above symptoms.
Pharmacological Effects: Anticoagulant, reduces platelet aggregation and adhesion, lowers blood viscosity, enhances fibrinolytic activity, regulates blood lipids, and delays atherosclerosis.
2. Xie Shan Chang Rong Capsules
Formula Explanation: This formula is a modified version of the Bu Yang Huan Wu Decoction. It heavily utilizes Astragalus (Huangqi) to tonify the spleen and stomach qi, assisting blood circulation as the monarch herb; paired with Angelica (Danggui) and Red Peony (Chishao) to nourish blood and invigorate circulation, acting as minister herbs; Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong), Safflower (Honghua), and Peach Kernel (Taoren) invigorate blood and resolve stasis, serving as assistant herbs; Earthworm (Dilong) is good at moving and unblocking meridians, calming wind and stopping spasms, acting as envoy herb. Together, these herbs work to tonify qi, invigorate blood, and unblock meridians.
Indications: Stroke due to qi deficiency and blood stasis, presenting with hemiplegia, facial droop, slurred speech, numbness on one side, accompanied by shortness of breath, fatigue, pale complexion, or sweating upon exertion, cold limbs, and swelling of hands and feet; applicable for ischemic stroke with the above symptoms.
Pharmacological Effects: Antithrombotic, anti-atherosclerotic, reduces cerebral index, increases blood flow in the common carotid artery, lowers cerebrovascular resistance, and improves blood viscosity.
3. Yin Dan Xin Nao Tong Soft Capsules
Formula Explanation: Ginkgo Leaf (Yinxingye) is sweet, bitter, and astringent, neutral in nature, with effects of invigorating blood, resolving stasis, unblocking meridians, and reducing lipids; Salvia (Danshen) is bitter and slightly cold, with effects of invigorating blood and resolving stasis, unblocking meridians, serving as the monarch herb. Asarum (Dengzhanxincao) is pungent and slightly bitter, warm, with effects of invigorating blood, unblocking meridians, and alleviating pain; Notoginseng (Sanqi) is sweet and slightly bitter, warm, with effects of resolving stasis and stopping bleeding; Gynostemma (Jiaogulan) is bitter and slightly sweet, cool, beneficial for qi and strengthening the spleen; Hawthorn (Shanzha) is sweet and sour, slightly warm, beneficial for digestion and invigorating blood; Garlic (Suanshi) is pungent and warm, beneficial for warming the middle and aiding digestion; Mugwort (Aiye) is pungent and bitter, slightly cold, can open the orifices and clear heat, alleviating pain, serving as assistant herbs. Together, these herbs work to invigorate blood, resolve stasis, promote qi, and alleviate pain.

6. Shexiang Kang Thrombus Capsules
Formula Explanation: This formula includes Notoginseng, Rhubarb (Dahuang), Chuanxiong, Rehmannia (Dihuang), Angelica, Safflower, Red Peony, and leech, which invigorate blood, resolve stasis, unblock meridians, and regulate qi and blood. The addition of herbs like Houttuynia (Yuxingcao), Lonicera (Jin Yin Hua), Chicken Blood Vine (Jixue Teng), and others helps to dispel wind and unblock meridians.
