Today’s exercise is the eighth in the neck and shoulder series: Holding the Sky and Stretching the Ribs to Treat Cervical Spondylosis.Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) states that the liver governs the tendons and the kidneys govern the bones and marrow, the occurrence of cervical spondylosis is closely related to the liver and kidneys, therefore, tonifying the liver and kidneys is an effective method for treating cervical spondylosis.Teacher Zhang: The issue with the cervical spine is fundamentally a liver and kidney problem, the Governor Vessel belongs to the kidneys, and the fascia belongs to the liver.I emphasize these exercises because I developed cervical spondylosis during my graduate studies, and after treatment, it recurred multiple times due to my busy schedule writing papers. I later realized that this was actually due to accumulated bad lifestyle habits.Since then, I have practiced these exercises every morning to counteract the issue, and as a result, the condition has completely improved. This exercise is designed to counteract the damage to the cervical spine caused by desk work.Perform 50 to 100 repetitions until you sweat slightly; it can be done during menstruation and should be done with caution during pregnancy.Some feedback from netizens:
