4. Sanqi + Huangqi (Astragalus) + Danshen — Huangqi Sanqi Pork Soup

Huangqi is sweet and slightly warm, entering the lung and spleen meridians. Its effects include tonifying the middle and benefiting qi. It is used for liver diseases, primarily for its qi-tonifying and blood-activating properties. When combined with the blood-activating and stasis-removing herbs Sanqi and Danshen, it can treat chronic hepatitis B and liver cirrhosis with blood stasis.

【Ingredients】30 grams of Huangqi, 10 grams of Sanqi, 15 grams of Danshen, 60 grams of lean pork.

【Preparation】Wash the lean pork and cut it into small pieces. Clean the Huangqi, Sanqi, and Danshen. Place all ingredients in a clay pot, add an appropriate amount of water, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer on low heat until the meat is tender. Add a little salt or omit salt.

Precautions: This is a daily dosage, to be consumed in several portions over a week. If there is ascites due to liver cirrhosis, do not add salt. This soup is only an auxiliary medicinal dish; severely ill patients must receive comprehensive treatment from both TCM and Western medicine. Experts advise against consumption for those with external heat, yin deficiency with yang excess, or phlegm-damp obstruction; not suitable for those without blood stasis; Danshen should not be used with Li Lu.

【Effects】Promotes blood circulation, removes stasis, and treats liver diseases, suitable for early-stage liver cirrhosis with qi stagnation and blood stasis.
