Today, we introduce the formula for releasing evils from both the exterior and interior, known as Biao Li Shuang Jie (表里双解). This formula consists of 解表药 (exterior-releasing herbs) combined with 泻下 (laxatives), 清热 (heat-clearing), and 温里药 (warming interior herbs), which work together to treat conditions affecting both the exterior and interior.

Fang Feng Tong Sheng Wan (防风通圣丸)
Ingredients
Fang Feng (防风), Jing Jie Sui (荆芥穗), Bo He (薄荷), Ma Huang (麻黄), Da Huang (大黄), Mang Xiao (芒硝), Zhi Zi (栀子), Hua Shi (滑石), Jie Geng (桔梗), Shi Gao (石膏), Chuan Xiong (川芎), Dang Gui (当归), Huang Qin (黄芩), Lian Qiao (连翘), Gan Cao (甘草), Bai Shao (白芍), Bai Zhu (白术, roasted). The coating excipient is Hua Shi (滑石粉).
Main Functions
Releases the exterior and unblocks the interior, clears heat and detoxifies. Used for urticaria, eczema, and constipation.

Precautions
1. Avoid smoking, alcohol, and spicy, greasy, seafood. 2. Do not take nourishing herbs concurrently during treatment. 3. Caution for patients with hypertension and heart disease. Those with severe chronic diseases such as liver disease, diabetes, or kidney disease should take under medical supervision. 4. Patients with skin symptoms similar to allergic reactions after taking or injecting certain medications should seek medical attention immediately. 5. If bowel movements increase and become unformed after taking, reduce dosage accordingly. 6. Patients with fever over 38.5 degrees Celsius should seek medical attention. 7. Pregnant women should use cautiously; children, nursing mothers, the elderly, and those with spleen deficiency and loose stools should take under medical supervision. 8. Strictly follow the dosage; this product is not suitable for long-term use. 9. If symptoms do not improve after three days of use, seek medical attention. 10. Athletes should use cautiously. 11. Those allergic to this product should avoid it; those with allergic tendencies should use cautiously. 12. Do not use if the product’s properties change. 13. Children must use under adult supervision. 14. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. 15. If taking other medications, consult a physician or pharmacist before use.

Shuang Qing Kou Fu Ye (双清口服液)
Ingredients
Da Qing Ye (大青叶), Jin Yin Hua (金银花), Wen Yu Jin (温郁金), Guang Huo Xiang (广藿香), Sheng Di Huang (生地黄), Lian Qiao (连翘), Zhi Mu (知母), Gan Cao (甘草), Jie Geng (桔梗), Shi Gao (石膏).
Properties
This product is a deep brown liquid with a slight sediment that easily disperses upon shaking; it has a bitter taste.
Main Functions
Clears exterior pathogens, clears heat and detoxifies. This product is suitable for wind-heat lung conditions, presenting with fever and slight aversion to wind-cold, thirst, cough, yellow phlegm, headache, red tongue with yellow or white coating, slippery or rapid pulse, and acute bronchitis with the above symptoms.

Ge Gen Qin Lian Wan (葛根芩连丸)
Ingredients
Ge Gen (葛根), Huang Qin (黄芩), Huang Lian (黄连), Zhi Gan Cao (炙甘草)
Properties
This product is a deep brown to black concentrated water pill; it has a slight aroma and a bitter taste.
Main Functions
Relieves muscle tension, clears heat and detoxifies, promotes urination and stops diarrhea.
Indications
This product is used for diarrhea and abdominal pain caused by damp-heat accumulation, presenting with yellow, sticky stools and anal burning; and for wind-heat colds presenting with fever, aversion to wind, headache, and body aches.

Xiao Chai Hu Ke Li (小柴胡颗粒)
Ingredients
Chai Hu (柴胡), Jiang Ban Xia (姜半夏), Huang Qin (黄芩), Dang Shen (党参), Gan Cao (甘草), Sheng Jiang (生姜), Da Zao (大枣).
Properties
This product is brown granules; it has a bitter and slightly sweet taste.
Main Functions
Releases the exterior, disperses heat, and harmonizes the liver and stomach.
Indications
This product is used for external pathogenic diseases, with symptoms of alternating chills and fever, fullness in the chest and hypochondria, poor appetite, irritability, nausea, and bitter mouth with dry throat.
