What to do? There are always more solutions than difficulties. The class leader first communicated with Teacher Zhu Xianjun to determine the rehearsal ideas and plans, and to finalize the rehearsal time and venue. Then, I sent out performance invitations to all classmates. Thanks to our good foundation of teamwork, we received a positive response from the students, and soon confirmed the participation of 32 performers.Some students who were away returned early, including Wang Guiying who came back from abroad, Du Suxiang and Liu Wenhua who returned from Sanya regardless of the cost of their tickets, and Fang Dajun who was in Nanjing caring for his sick father, hurriedly entrusted friends to look after him and resolutely set off back. Class committee member Zhao Hongwei’s spouse had a broken foot, yet he overcame great difficulties to be the first to sign up. Di Hong and Sun Jing, who did not manage to enroll in the Qigong class this year, accepted the invitation to perform with gratitude and reluctance, showing admirable dedication. Looking at this heavy list of performers, familiar faces floated in my mind, and my eyes became a bit moist…February 24, 2025, CloudyToday was the first group rehearsal, and everyone was fully focused; the rehearsal went very well. To my surprise, two new students, Bai Shi and Ma Fengyan, actively came to the rehearsal site. Teacher Zhu introduced that these two students had a good foundation, and I immediately extended a performance invitation to them, which they gladly accepted. After diligent practice, they quickly integrated into the team, showcasing impressive potential.Everyone worked hard during the rehearsal, but the hardest worker was still Teacher Zhu. To prepare for the rehearsal, she had to dedicate five days of class time. Since Teacher Zhu teaches eight classes across the city, most of which are new classes, some of which coincided with our performance on the first day of school, she disregarded everything and prioritized our class’s performance. I ask, can we find another teacher in the senior university who has been with the class throughout, providing voluntary guidance and personally participating in the performance? This is why we respect and admire her.To quickly adapt to the stage for better performance results, classmates Liang Yan and Liu Bo, who work in the theater, proactively arranged for students to practice on stage, rest in the VIP room, and assist in filming materials. I jokingly said, “Liang Yan and Liu Bo are from the theater, and the theater is ours!” We have taken full advantage of the favorable conditions, giving us more confidence and assurance for a successful performance.
February 27, 2025, SunnyToday was the second group rehearsal. In the morning, Huang Yanhong’s spouse needed eye surgery, and after sending her spouse into the operating room, she hurried to the rehearsal site. Looking at her dusty appearance, I felt both warmth and emotion.Teacher Zhu praised the organizational work of the class highly, saying that our Qigong class was fortunate to participate in the opening ceremony performance, and everyone had put in so much effort. In fact, the one who contributed the most was our respected Class Leader Lu, who was hands-on from receiving the notification, confirming participants, to determining the rehearsal venue and time, meticulously attending to every detail. This kind of wholehearted dedication and spirit of contribution moved me greatly. Participating in activities with my classmates brings me both honor and joy, and we will definitely present the best and most beautiful state of the Qigong class on the stage of the opening ceremony. Teacher Zhu’s encouragement greatly boosted our confidence.
March 5, 2025, CloudyToday was the third group rehearsal, and suddenly we received news that Shen Lili had to withdraw due to health reasons. She was very eager to participate, but there was no choice but to reluctantly say sorry. The class leader’s head suddenly felt heavy. We quickly called for reinforcements and urgently contacted Zhou Changhai, who agreed on the spot. A good brother’s loyalty and trustworthiness are admirable.In the morning, Changqing asked for leave and arrived late; his mother had cataract surgery yesterday and was discharged after a check-up this morning. Changqing is a person of great integrity and credit, and just after nine o’clock, he rushed in, panting. During the rehearsal, several older brothers and sisters, including Li Fu, Sun Xiaohua, Wu Liwen, Huang Ping, Liu Yi, Ma Fengzhi, and Liu Zhenjie, showed perseverance and effort, contributing more sweat and hard work. Wang Guiying even spent her own money to buy bright red national flag badges for everyone. March 6, 2025, SunnyToday was the school’s performance rehearsal. Before eight o’clock, as per the notification, everyone arrived at the classroom one after another. Wang Guiying, Changqing, Du Suxiang, and Qi Zhiyuan actively helped everyone with makeup. At nine o’clock, we moved to the theater for the rehearsal performance, and the overall performance effect was very good, with only a few minor details needing improvement. In response to the shortcomings, Teacher Zhu provided focused guidance, resulting in significant improvements.
March 7, 2025, SunnyToday was the official performance of the opening ceremony. At eight o’clock, teachers and students arrived on time at the classroom for makeup and pre-performance preparations. During this time, Teacher Zhu and the class leader were also interviewed by Liaoning TV, showcasing the good spirit of the Qigong class. At nine o’clock, all personnel entered the theater, first holding a meeting before the performance.Today’s performance was an unprecedented success, with the largest and most coordinated number of participants in all rehearsals, achieving zero mistakes, and making new breakthroughs in the artistic expressiveness and the perfect combination of lighting, music, and overall movements, resulting in excellent performance effects. During our performance, the audience applauded enthusiastically three times, with cheers echoing. We succeeded! Stepping off the stage, everyone’s joy was evident, and they were all as happy as children, dancing with excitement. The class leader shook hands with each performer at the exit, congratulating them on the successful performance.We presented a wonderful show to the audience and kept the joy of success in our hearts.
