Section 1: Powder Formulations
2.1.1 Five Whites Powder Formula: Bai Wei (30g), Bai Ji (30g), Bai Lian (30g), Bai Zhi (30g), Bai Xian Pi (30g), Qing Dai (30g), Cang Zhu (30g), Huang Bai (60g), Da Huang (60g), Zi Cao (30g), Sheng Di Yu (30g), each 30g; Zhuan Long Gu (60g), Zhuan Mu Li (60g), Zhuan Shi Gao (60g), Zhuan Bai Fan (60g), Zhuan He Ke (60g), Bing Pian (15g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, add Bing Pian, sieve, mix well, and set aside.
Indications: Dries dampness, astringes, anti-inflammatory, and relieves itching; primarily used for the exudative phase of wet dermatitis. Usage: Apply to affected area multiple times daily.
2.1.2 Protective Powder Formula: Huang Bai (1000g), Zhuan Lu Gan Shi (1000g), Wu Bei Zi (1000g), Hua Shi (1000g).
Preparation: Grind each ingredient into a fine powder, sieve, mix well, and set aside.
Indications: Dries and astringes, anti-inflammatory, relieves itching; used for preventing immersion dermatitis and rice field dermatitis. Usage: After cleaning the skin lesions with water, apply to the affected area.
2.1.3 Ice Flower Powder Formula: Bing Pian (15g), Hua Jiao (60g), Xi Xin (3g).
Preparation: Place Xi Xin, Hua Jiao, and Bing Pian in a bowl, cover with a glass plate, and heat from below; ice flowers will gradually form under the glass plate, scrape off, mix well, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Anti-inflammatory, relieves itching; can be used for neurodermatitis, pruritus, and oral ulcers.
Usage: Apply powder to mucous membranes, sprinkle on skin lesions, or prepare a 0.5% Ice Flower Powder with 95% alcohol for external application, 2-3 times daily.
2.1.4 Shi Dai Powder Formula: Zhuan Shi Gao (1000g), Jin Yin Hua (1000g), Qing Dai (1000g), Ku Fan (1000g), Wu Bei Zi (1000g).
Preparation: Grind each ingredient into a fine powder, sieve, mix well, and set aside.
Indications: Pustular dermatitis.
Usage: After heating sesame oil, mix with the powder to form a paste (approximately 35% powder content), cool, and apply to the affected area, 2-3 times daily.
2.1.5 Stalactite Powder Formula: Zhong Ru Shi (66g), Han Shui Shi (60g), Huang Lian (6g), San Mei Pian (3g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a powder, sieve, mix well, and bottle tightly for later use.
Indications: Diaper dermatitis.
Usage: Clean the child’s buttocks with warm water, dry, sprinkle the powder on the affected area, 3 times daily; if there is exudation, apply a small amount of sesame oil first, then sprinkle the powder.
2.1.6 Pressure Ulcer Healing Powder Formula: Huang Lian (3g), Bing Pian (2g), Artificial Niu Huang (3g), Xue Jue (10g), Yuan Ming Fen (6g), Er Cha (10g), Bai Ya (10g), Huang Qi (15g), Zao Xiu (10g).
Preparation: Grind each ingredient into a fine powder, sieve through a 120-mesh sieve, mix well, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Pressure ulcers (Grade II or III).
Usage: Properly treat the wound; if there are small blisters, apply the powder directly; if there are large blisters, drain the fluid first, if there is excessive exudation, rinse with saline, then apply 10% Huang Bai water until the wound is clean, then sprinkle the powder, change dressings 1-2 times daily until healed.
2.1.7 Qing Gan Powder Formula: Qing Dai Fen (9g), Lu Gan Shi Fen (90g).
Preparation: Sieve and mix well, bottle for later use.
Indications: Perianal eczema.
Usage: Wrap the powder in two layers of gauze. Before treatment, clean the anus, dry, and then apply to the affected area, 3-5 times daily.
2.1.8 Snake Sulfur Powder Formula: She Chuang Zi (12g), Mi Tuo Seng (12g), Xiong Huang (10g), Shi Liu Huang (6g), Ku Shen (5g), Tu Fu Ling (8g), Qing Fen (6g).
Preparation: Grind each ingredient into a fine powder, sieve, mix well, then use high-quality vinegar to form a paste, bottle tightly for 5 days before use.
Indications: Vitiligo.
Usage: Take a small amount of the paste, apply to the affected area, 1-3 times daily. Caution: Do not ingest or get into the eyes. After application, only mild itching is noted, no other adverse reactions.
2.1.9 Anti-inflammatory Powder Formula: Da Huang (20g), Gan Cao (20g), Qing Dai (10g), Zinc Oxide (10g), Bing Pian (2g), Zhuan Long Gu (20g), Lu Gan Shi (10g).
Preparation: Place Da Huang and Gan Cao in a pot, roast until yellow, grind into a fine powder, grind the remaining ingredients into fine powder, sieve through an 80-mesh sieve, mix thoroughly, sterilize under high pressure, and bottle tightly for later use.
Indications: Pustular dermatitis.
Usage: After cleaning the wound with 5% Huang Bai water, take the powder and mix with 2% Long Dan Zi solution to form a paste for external application, 3 times daily.
2.1.10 Compound Sulfur Powder Formula: Sulfur (25g), Chicken Egg (1), Ming Fan (8g), Bing Pian (0.5g).
Preparation: Take one fresh chicken egg, make a hole at the top, remove the yolk, keep the egg white in the shell, fill with sulfur powder, then wrap with wet dough (flour mixed with water) and roast near the fire until the dough turns yellow, discard the dough layer, grind the roasted sulfur powder into a fine powder; separately heat Ming Fan in an iron spoon to remove moisture, cool, grind into a fine powder, then mix with the ground sulfur powder, bottle for later use.
Indications: Pustular dermatitis, folliculitis.
Usage: First, wash the wound with 5% Huang Bai water or saline to remove scabs and pus, then apply the powder once daily. Most cases heal after 3-5 applications.
2.1.11 Nitrate Huang Powder I and II Formulas: I Formula: Mang Xiao (200g), Huang Bai (200g); II Formula: Mang Xiao (100g), Huang Bai (200g).
Preparation: Grind separately, mix well to create I and II powders.
Indications: Frostbite.
Usage: First, dissolve 5g of Mang Xiao in water with 10g of Huang Bai, apply externally. For unbroken frostbite, use I powder; for broken frostbite, use II powder. Mix the powder with water to form a paste for external application, once daily. Generally, unbroken frostbite requires 5-6 applications, broken frostbite requires 10-15 applications for healing, with no side effects noted during treatment.
2.1.12 New Qing He Powder Formula: Qing Dai (10g), Zhuan He Fen (30g), Zhuan Shi Gao (30g), Lu Gan Shi (15g), Huang Bai (10g), Zi Cao (5g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, sieve, mix well, and bottle for external use.
Indications: Mixed rash (especially vesicular and exudative types), pustular dermatitis, tinea pedis infection.
Usage: Take a small amount of powder, mix with Hua Jiao oil or vegetable oil to form a paste, apply to the affected area. Note: This powder must be bottled and sealed.
2.1.13 Compound Huang Powder Formula: Sheng Shi Gao (350g), Hua Shi (350g), Sheng Hua (80g), Huang Bai (60g), Wu Bei Zi (100g).
Preparation: Grind each ingredient into a fine powder, mix well to create a powder, then use camphor alcohol (25g camphor dissolved in 200ml of white alcohol) to mix with the powder to form a paste for later use.
Indications: Pustular dermatitis.
Usage: Apply externally to the affected area, 2-3 times daily until healed.
2.1.14 Xi Xin Wu Bei Powder Formula: Xi Xin (100g), Wu Bei Zi (200g), Bing Pian (2.5g).
Preparation: Grind into a very fine powder, mix well, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Pustular dermatitis.
Usage: First, boil 10g of Ku Shen in water, let cool, wash the affected area, then apply the powder to cover the wound without covering it, 1-2 times daily.
2.1.15 Qing Shi Powder Formula: Qing Dai (60g), Huang Bai (60g), Shi Gao (120g), Hua Shi (120g).
Preparation: Grind each ingredient into a fine powder, sieve through a 100-mesh sieve, mix well, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Eczematous dermatitis.
Usage: In the acute phase, mix the powder with sesame oil to form a paste for application, or sprinkle the powder lightly. 2-3 times daily; in the subacute or chronic phase, mix the powder with Vaseline to create a 30% paste or 10% ointment for application, 1-2 times daily. Note: Do not apply the medication too thickly, and do not forcibly remove scabs with hands or tweezers.
2.1.16 Shuang Huang Powder Formula: Huang Dan (50g), Huang Bai (50g).
Preparation: Grind finely, mix well, bottle for later use.
Indications: Eczema.
Usage: First, wash the wound and limbs with 5% Huang Bai water using a cotton ball, if there is excessive exudation, sprinkle the powder on the wound; if there is less exudation, mix with sesame oil to form a paste for application, 2-3 times daily. During treatment, avoid fishy and spicy foods.
2.1.17 Eczema Powder Formula: Huang Bai (30g), Da Huang (30g), Huang Lian (15g), Xiong Huang (20g), Qing Dai (20g), Wu Bei Zi (15g), Lu Gan Shi (15g), Zhuan Bai Fan (15g), Qing Fen (10g), Bing Pian (3g).
Preparation: Roast Huang Bai, Da Huang, Huang Lian until yellow, grind into powder, then grind the remaining ingredients into fine powder, mix thoroughly, sieve, and bottle under high pressure for later use.
Indications: Scrotal eczema.
Usage: First, wash the affected area with 5% Huang Bai water, then mix a small amount of the powder with castor oil to form a paste for application, 3 times daily.
2.1.18 Ulcer Powder Formula: Niu Dan (or Zhu Dan) (1), Qing Dai (30g), Chen Shi Hui (30g), Huang Dan (10g), Qing Fen (10g), Bing Pian (5g), Huang Bai (30g), Mi Tuo Seng (30g), Wu Bei Zi (20g), Ku Fan (10g).
Preparation: Grind Qing Dai, Shi Hui, Huang Dan, Qing Fen, Bing Pian into coarse powder, then place into the cow gallbladder (keeping the bile), dry in the shade, and grind into fine powder; Huang Bai should be dried and ground into fine powder; Mi Tuo Seng, Wu Bei Zi, Ku Fan should also be ground into fine powder; mix all ingredients thoroughly, sieve through a 100-mesh sieve, sterilize under high pressure, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Chronic ulcers of the lower limbs.
Usage: Clean the affected area with 5% Huang Bai water, remove necrotic tissue, disinfect the wound edges with alcohol, take a small amount of the powder and mix with 2% Long Dan Zi solution to form a paste for application. Change dressings 3 times daily until healed.
2.1.19 Skin Cancer Powder I and II Formulas: I Powder: Hong Fan (3g), Zhi Qiao (15g), Tou Fa (15g), Hong Zao (10g), Mian Fen (30g); II Powder: Mao Tou (1).
Preparation: For I Powder, crush the first three ingredients and place them inside the pitted red dates, wrap with alkaline dough, shape into the size of longan, place on charcoal and roast over low heat until white smoke appears, then remove the dough shell, grind into fine powder, bottle for later use. For II Powder, take one cat’s head, wrap it in dough, dry in the oven, then remove the outer dough layer, grind the dried cat’s head into fine powder, bottle for later use.
Indications: Squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, and other skin cancers.
Usage: First, apply a small amount of I Powder mixed with sesame oil as a paste to the affected area once daily. After 2-3 days, if the area feels painful, switch to II Powder mixed with sesame oil as a paste, once daily. After 4-5 days, alternate between I and II Powder pastes, 1-2 times daily until new granulation tissue forms, leaving only superficial scars. When changing dressings, ensure the area includes the tumor and surrounding skin by 0.5cm.
2.1.20 Five Tiger Pill Formula: Mercury (60g), Huo Nao, Zao Fan, Bai Fan (180g each), Salt (90g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, place in a jar, melt over charcoal, and cool. Invert the jar onto a porcelain plate, seal the plate with paper, and cover the jar with a paste of Zhuan Shi Gao powder and water to prevent gas leakage. Place the jar in a large pot filled with yellow sand, leaving the bottom of the jar about 2cm above the sand, first place 1-2 pieces of charcoal at the bottom of the jar, burn for 1.5 hours, then add enough charcoal to the bottom and burn for another hour, extinguish the fire, and take out the jar; the powder inside should appear as a white frost, which is the Five Tiger Pill, bottle for later use. Alternatively, mix the Five Tiger Pill with a small amount of cooked dough to form strips for later use.
Indications: Boils, carbuncles, etc.
Usage: Clean the affected area, puncture the center of the carbuncle or boil to drain pus, then apply the Five Tiger Pill powder or strips, cover with gauze, and bandage, changing daily. If pus is completely drained, switch to a healing powder for faster recovery. In severe cases, decoct Wu Wei Xiao Du Yin.
2.1.21 Centipede Powder Formula: Wu Gong (200g), Wu Bei Zi (200g).
Preparation: Grind each ingredient into a fine powder, mix well, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Infectious skin ulcers.
Usage: First, clean the ulcer with saline, disinfect the surrounding area with a 1/1000 New Jier Mie solution, then sprinkle the powder on the ulcer, cover with gauze, and change dressings every other day until healed.
2.1.22 Modified Qing Dai Powder Formula: Qing Dai (30g), Zhuan Shi Gao (50g), Shui Fei Hua Shi (50g), Huang Bai (10g), Mi Tuo Seng (20g), Ku Fan (20g), Qing Fen (10g), Bing Pian (5g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, sieve through a 100-mesh sieve, mix well, and bottle under high pressure for later use.
Indications: Scrotal eczema.
Usage: First, clean the affected area with 5% Huang Bai water, then mix the powder with castor oil to form a paste for application, 2-3 times daily.
2.1.23 Anti-inflammatory and Skin Regeneration Powder Formula: Huang Bai (12g), Huang Qin (12g), Zi Cao (30g), Mi Tuo Seng (30g), Chi Shi Zhi (30g), Wu Wei Zi (20g), Cang Zhu (6g), Bing Pian (0.5g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, sieve through a 100-mesh sieve, mix well, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Lower limb ulcers.
Usage: When needed, take an appropriate amount of honey to mix and apply to the affected area, using a bandage to wrap from the lower leg upwards, then back down, repeating the process, changing every 5-7 days until healed.
2.1.24 Scrotal Powder Formula: Qing Dai (20g), Mi Tuo Seng (20g), Sulfur (20g), Hua Shi (20g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, sieve, and mix well.
Indications: Scrotal eczema, scrotal fungal infections, etc.
Usage: Mix with sesame oil to form an ointment, apply to the affected area, 2-3 times daily.
2.1.25 Jiao Huang Powder Formula: Chuan Jiao (100g), Sulfur (100g).
Preparation: Roast Chuan Jiao until dry, grind with sulfur into a fine powder, sieve through a 120-mesh sieve, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Tinea corporis, tinea cruris, etc.
Usage: Use fresh ginger, cut diagonally, and dip the cut surface into the powder, rubbing the affected area for 3-5 minutes each time, twice daily, and once more after bathing at night.
2.1.26 Five Wonderful Powder Formula: Tian Hua Fen (30g), Hua Shi (20g), Cang Zhu (20g), Huang Bai (10g), Qing Dai (3g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, sieve through a 120-mesh sieve, mix well, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Eczema.
Usage: Sprinkle on the affected area and bandage, once daily. For chronic cases, mix with sesame oil to form a paste for external application.
2.1.27 Decaying Flesh Regeneration and Pain Relief Powder Formula: Sheng Boro (30g), Mo Sha (3g), Fei Hua Shi (55g), Hu Po (6g), Bing Pian (4g), Gan Cao (20g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, sieve through a 120-mesh sieve, mix well, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Recurrent oral ulcers.
Usage: Apply the powder to the ulcer surface, 3-5 times daily.
2.1.28 Vitiligo External Powder Formula: Xiong Huang (3.5g), Mi Tuo Seng (10g), Bai Zhi (6g), Bai Fu Zi (6g).
Preparation: Grind finely, sieve to remove coarse powder, then sieve through a 120-mesh sieve to create a fine powder, bottle for later use.
Indications: Vitiligo.
Usage: Clean the cucumber, remove seeds, cut at an angle, dip the cut surface into the powder, and rub the affected area vigorously, 2-3 times daily.
2.1.29 Ku Shen Powder Formula: Ku Shen (30g), She Chuang Zi (30g), Huang Lian (30g), Huang Bai (30g), Chuan Jiao (10g), Ku Fan (10g), Bing Pian (3g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, sieve, mix well, and bottle for sterilization for later use.
Indications: Fungal vaginitis.
Usage: Before each application, wash the vulva and vaginal area with 3% sodium bicarbonate solution or 1:1000 New Jier Mie solution, apply the powder, and change to clean underwear, 1-2 times daily, for 5 applications as a course of treatment.
2.1.30 Ulcer Powder Formula: Shan Dou Gen (30g), Da Huang (30g), Huang Lian (15g), Ren Zhong Bai (20g), Qing Dai (20g), Mo Yao (15g), Er Cha (15g), Zhu Sha (10g), Bing Pian (5g).
Preparation: First, roast Shan Dou Gen, Da Huang, Huang Lian until yellow, grind into a very fine powder; grind the remaining ingredients into a very fine powder, mix all together, sieve through a 120-mesh sieve, mix well, bottle, and sterilize under high pressure for later use.
Indications: Oral ulcers.
Usage: Before use, rinse the mouth with a 3% boric acid solution, then take a small amount of the powder and mix with 2% Long Dan Zi solution to form a paste for application, 3-5 times daily until healed.
2.1.31 Blood Vessel Powder I and II Formulas: I Powder: Huang Bai (50g), Zhuan Shi Gao (50g), Mang Xiao (50g), Pu Gong Ying (50g), Huang Bai (30g).
Preparation: Grind I and II powders separately into fine powder, sieve through a 120-mesh sieve, mix well, and bottle.
Indications: Thrombotic venous inflammation of the chest and abdominal wall.
Usage: In the acute phase with redness, heat, and pain, use I powder mixed with cool boiled water for local application; in the chronic phase with cord-like hard swelling, use II powder mixed with hot water for wet application. 2-3 times daily, each time for about half an hour.
2.1.32 Huang Lian Er Cha Powder Formula: Chuan Lian (3g), Huang Bai (4g), Er Cha (3g), Qing Dai (3g), He Fen (3g), Ku Fan (3g), Zhuan Shi Gao (3g), Xiong Huang (2g), Qing Fen (1g), She Xiang (0.3g), La Mei Hua (20 dried flowers).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a very fine powder, sieve through a 120-mesh sieve, mix well, and bottle tightly for later use.
Indications: Alcoholic rhinitis.
Usage: Take a small amount of the powder and mix with an appropriate amount of cool boiled water to form a paste for external application to the nose, 2 times daily. In severe cases, decoct “Qi Ye Yin”: Pi Pa Ye (10g), Ce Bai Ye (12g), Sang Ye (6g), Ren Shen Ye (6g), He Ye (6g), Zhu Ye (6g), Da Qing Ye (15g). One dose daily.
2.1.33 Xin Zao Powder Formula: Xin Shi (0.2g), Hong Zao (10 pieces).
Preparation: First, remove the pits from the red dates, place the Xin Shi inside the dates, dry in a constant temperature box, grind finely, and mix well (the amount of Xin Shi should be 0.2g, do not exceed this amount), seal in a bottle for later use.
Indications: Facial skin cancer (non-metastatic).
Usage: Mix sesame oil with the powder to form a paste for external application, ensuring the application area includes 0.5cm of healthy tissue surrounding the cancerous area. After application, the powder and cancer tissue will form a dry scab, and the tumor will gradually necrose and separate from normal tissue, with the wound edges appearing smooth and neat, like a cut. If pain, congestion, swelling, exudation, and accompanying nausea and fatigue occur after application, they generally disappear within 3-5 days; if the cancerous area is too large, surgical removal may be necessary to shorten the treatment duration; if the cancerous base has large blood vessels and nerves nearby, avoid application to prevent damage to blood vessels or nerves.
2.1.34 Shuang Bai Powder Formula: Bai Lian (30g), Bai Ji (30g), Da Huang (50g).
Preparation: Roast the ingredients until yellow, grind into a fine powder, sieve through a 100-mesh sieve, mix well, and set aside.
Indications: Chapped skin.
Usage: Clean the affected area and dry, take a small amount of the powder, mix with an appropriate amount of honey to form a paste, apply 3-6 times daily, and bandage if necessary.
2.1.35 Ulcer Powder Formula: Da Huang (50g), Bai Ji (50g), Mi Tuo Seng (30g), Er Cha (30g), Qing Dai (20g), Qing Fen (10g), Bing Pian (5g).
Preparation: First, roast Da Huang and Bai Ji until yellow, grind into a very fine powder; grind the remaining ingredients into a very fine powder, mix all together, sieve through a 120-mesh sieve, mix well, bottle, and sterilize under high pressure for later use.
Indications: Lower limb ulcers.
Usage: Clean the affected area, remove necrotic tissue, then take a small amount of the powder and mix with 2% Long Dan Zi solution to form a paste for application, bandage the affected area, and change dressings twice daily for 10 days.
2.1.36 Xiong Huang Powder Formula: Xiong Huang (33g), Ku Fan (33g), Xue Yu Tan (33g), Bing Pian (4g).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder, sieve, mix well, and set aside.
Indications: Herpes zoster.
Usage: Clean the affected area with saline, then mix the powder with sesame oil to form a paste for application, cover with oiled paper, and bandage with 5-6 layers of gauze. Change dressings twice daily until scabs form.
2.1.37 Centipede Powder Formula: Wu Gong (10 pieces), Tu Bie Chong (6g), Di Long (6g).
Preparation: Dry and grind into a very fine powder, sieve, mix with sesame oil to form a paste, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Scrotal eczema.
Usage: Before applying, use “Yin Shi Decoction” to steam wash: Ku Shen (30g), She Chuang Zi (20g), Bai Xian Pi (1g), Cang Zhu (10g). Then apply the paste 2-3 times daily.
2.1.38 Qing Bing Powder Formula: Qing Dai (100g), Bing Pian (100g).
Preparation: Grind into a very fine powder, sieve through an 80-mesh sieve, and bottle for later use.
Indications: Oral ulcers.
Usage: Sprinkle an appropriate amount of powder on the ulcer surface, keep the mouth closed for 10 minutes, 4-5 times daily. Alternatively, use a cotton ball dipped in the powder to press on the ulcer for 10 minutes before removing.
2.1.39 Chloasma Powder Formula: Fresh Apricot Flowers (90g), Fresh Peach Flowers (90g), Fresh Pear Flowers (90g), Fresh Persimmon Leaves (90g), Bu Guo Zi (30g).
Preparation: Dry the apricot flowers, peach flowers, pear flowers, and persimmon leaves, then grind with Bu Guo Zi into a fine powder, bottle for later use.
Indications: Chloasma.
Usage: Each night before bed, take an appropriate amount of powder, mix with sesame oil to form a thin paste for application to the face, wash off in the morning, once nightly for 3 weeks as a course of treatment, can be used for 2 courses. Must be used at night; using during the day may cause pigmentation.
2.1.40 Common Eczema Powder Formula: Wu Zhu Yu (12g), She Chuang Zi (12g), Bai Zhi (12g), Huang Bai (12g), Da Huang (12g), Cang Zhu (12g), Chuan Jiao (12g), Long Gu (15g), Mu Li (15g), Shi Gao (15g), Bai Fan (15g), Hai Piao Xiao (30g), Fu Ran Xi Lin Powder (3g), Qing Dai (20g), Bing Pian (0.5g).
