Comprehensive Analysis of Human Acupuncture PointsOn the path of yogait is either yoga or on the way to yogaFollow【Knowledge of Human Acupuncture Points】 Acupuncture points refer to areas where nerve endings are dense or where nerve pathways pass through. The scientific name for acupuncture points is “shùxué” (腧穴), with other names including: “qìxué” (气穴), “qìfǔ” (气府), “jié” (节), “huì” (会), “gǔkōng” (骨空), “màiqìsuǒfā” (脉气所发), “biānjiǔchù” (砭灸处), and “xuéwèi” (穴位). There are approximately 52 single points, 300 double points, and 50 extraordinary points, totaling 720 acupuncture points. Among these, there are 108 critical points, of which 72 are generally not fatal when struck, while the remaining 36 are fatal points, commonly referred to as “death points”. The death points are further divided into soft numbness, dizziness, light, and heavy categories, each containing nine points, totaling 36 fatal points. In life-and-death struggles, these points can be used as “killers”. A mnemonic verse states: “Baihui falls to the ground, the tailbone does not return home, Zhangmen is struck, nine out of ten die, Taiyang and Yamen will surely meet Yan Wang, a broken spine with no bones to connect, the knees below urgently lead to death.”Comprehensive Analysis of Human Acupuncture Points1. Unlike the twelve regular meridians, they do not directly connect to the organs and do not have a paired relationship, hence they are called “extraordinary meridians”. The Governing, Ren, and Chong vessels all originate from the lower abdomen, emerging from the perineum, referred to as “one source with three branches”. The Governing Vessel runs along the midline of the back, reaching the head and face; the Ren Vessel runs along the midline of the chest and abdomen, reaching the chin; the Chong Vessel ascends alongside the Foot Shaoyin Kidney channel, encircling the lips. The Dai Vessel originates from below the ribs, encircling the waist. The Yinwei Vessel starts from the inner side of the calf, ascending along the inner thigh to the abdomen, connecting with the Foot Taiyin channel, passing through the chest, and meeting the Ren Vessel at the neck. The Yangwei Vessel starts from the outer side of the heel, ascending along the outer side of the leg to the knee, reaching the back of the neck and connecting with the Governing Vessel. The Yinqiao Vessel starts from the inner side of the heel, ascending along the Foot Shaoyin and other channels to the inner canthus of the eye, connecting with the Yangqiao Vessel.
