Ren Zhong (Philtrum); located at the junction of the upper third and lower two-thirds of the philtrum. Needle technique: Insert at an angle from below upwards 3-5 fen. 2. Shao Shang (Lesser Shang); belongs to the Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian. Located on the outer side of the thumb’s distal phalanx, 0.1 cun from the nail. Needle technique: Insert straight from outside to inside. 3. Yin Bai (Hidden White); belongs to the Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian. Located on the inner side of the toe, about one fen from the corner of the nail. Needle technique: Insert straight from outside to inside. 4. Da Ling (Great Spirit); belongs to the Hand Jueyin Pericardium Meridian, located at the midpoint of the wrist crease, between the tendons of the palmaris longus and the flexor carpi radialis. Needle technique: Insert straight from outside to inside. 5. Shen Mai (Shen Pulse); belongs to the Foot Taiyang Bladder Meridian, one of the eight extraordinary points. Located in the depression below the outer side of the foot. Needle technique: Insert straight from outside to inside. 6. Feng Fu (Wind Mansion); also known as the base of the tongue, ghost pillow. Ghost point. Cao Xi. Belongs to the Governing Vessel. Located at the neck, one cun above the posterior hairline, in the depression between the two trapezius muscles. Needle technique: Insert straight from outside to inside. 7. Jia Che (Cheek Car); belongs to the Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian, located on the cheek, about one horizontal finger above the angle of the jaw when the masseter muscle is contracted. Needle technique: Insert straight from outside to inside. 8. Cheng Jiang (Cheng River); also known as Tian Chi, Ghost Market, Dripping River. Belongs to the Ren Meridian, located in the depression at the center of the lip groove. Needle technique: Insert straight from outside to inside. 9. Lao Gong (Labor Palace); belongs to the Hand Jueyin Pericardium Meridian, located in the palm, at the tip of the middle finger when the fist is clenched. Needle technique: Insert straight 3-5 fen. 10. Shang Xing (Upper Star); also known as Ghost Hall, Bright Hall. Divine Hall, belongs to the Governing Vessel, located on the head, one cun directly above the midpoint of the hairline. Needle technique: Insert straight 1-4 cun. 11. Hui Yin (Meeting of Yin); also known as the screen, sea bottom, lower extreme. Belongs to the Ren Meridian, located at the perineum, at the midpoint of the line connecting the root of the scrotum and the anus for males, and the midpoint of the line connecting the labia majora and the anus for females.
