Xi Mai (Slippery Pulse) is a pulse indicative of pregnancy in women, and is also referred to as Hua Mai in TCM.However, a Slippery Pulse does not necessarily confirm pregnancy.Besides pregnancy, a Slippery Pulse can also occur under normal conditions or certain diseases, thus it cannot be solely relied upon to confirm pregnancy.Young and healthy individuals may also exhibit a Slippery Pulse. In TCM, determining pregnancy is not solely based on pulse diagnosis; it requires a combination of the “Four Diagnostic Methods” and consideration of the patient’s condition, such as whether menstruation has stopped, the duration of amenorrhea, and other health factors.Generally, one should not rely solely on pulse diagnosis to confirm pregnancy. The Xi Mai (Slippery Pulse) is merely a reference for pregnancy and should not be the sole basis for diagnosis. It is best to go to a hospital for confirmation.Young lady!
