One free-range chicken (approximately 1500 grams), 30 grams of Dang Shen (Codonopsis), 6 Da Zao (Jujube dates), appropriate amounts of Gou Qi Zi (Goji berries), oil, salt, and chicken powder.

Preparation

Soak the Dang Shen (Codonopsis) in clean water for 10 minutes. Rub salt and chicken powder evenly inside and outside the whole chicken for 10 minutes to marinate. Stuff the Dang Shen and Da Zao into the chicken’s cavity, then steam in a steamer over high heat for 30 minutes. After steaming, pour out the broth and herbs from the chicken, chop into pieces, and plate. Place some Dang Shen at the bottom, sprinkle the rest on top of the chicken, drizzle with broth, and garnish with Gou Qi Zi (Goji berries) before serving.
