Ginseng, also known as a precious health tonic, can be appropriately consumed by individuals with physical weakness or insufficient qi and blood. Of course, ginseng has many other benefits, and even those in good health can consume it for its strengthening effects. What is the simplest way to consume ginseng? How should ginseng be consumed in daily life?
How to Consume Ginseng
1. Sublingual Administration
Slice fresh ginseng and place it in the mouth, continuously swallowing saliva. The main components of fresh ginseng will enter the body with saliva, and due to the digestive aid of saliva, individuals can maximize the absorption of nutrients from fresh ginseng. After about 10 minutes, the softened fresh ginseng can be chewed and swallowed.
2. Direct Chewing
As the name suggests, simply place fresh ginseng in the mouth and chew it directly.
3. Soaking in Water
Place fresh ginseng in a cup and pour in boiling water to soak for 15 to 30 minutes. It is recommended to add more water while drinking, and consume the fresh ginseng in the cup by the end of the day.
4. Boiling Water
Put fresh ginseng in an electric kettle or thermos to boil, and then drink it. Adjust the amount of fresh ginseng based on the amount of water consumed.
5. Steaming in Water
Place fresh ginseng in a small bowl, add an appropriate amount of water (must exceed the ginseng), and steam the bowl with ginseng for about an hour.
6. Cooking Rice
When cooking rice, add a piece of fresh ginseng to the pot. Do not discard the fresh ginseng when the rice is cooked; it can be sliced and consumed separately.
7. Juicing
Juice fresh ginseng for drinking; it is not recommended to discard the remaining ginseng pulp. It can be soaked in water or boiled for drinking.
In autumn and winter, when the skin tends to dry out, take 100 grams of fresh ginseng, slice it, and place it in a clay pot with 700 to 1000 grams of clean water. Soak for 2 hours, then boil for about 30 minutes. After the liquid cools, store it in a bottle. If sealed well and kept in a cool place, it can be preserved for a month.
Best Drinking Time: Half an hour before breakfast and about two hours after dinner.
Contraindications: Do not drink tea while consuming fresh ginseng, as the components in tea may decompose the effective ingredients in ginseng, reducing its efficacy.
Fresh ginseng has the function of detoxifying alcohol. Consuming a few grams of fresh ginseng before or after drinking can reduce the harm of alcohol to the body.
In addition to consumption, ginseng can also be used externally.
When washing the face, mix about 10 grams of boiled fresh ginseng juice with warm water and use it. For hair washing, first moisten the hair with warm water, then apply about 10 grams of fresh ginseng juice to the hair. Rub with both hands for more than 5 minutes, then rinse with clean water. It is best to do this method once a day for a month or several months, and both skin and hair will show remarkable changes.
Fresh ginseng can also be applied externally to the skin of the face. The method is to wash about 200 grams of fresh ginseng, mash it into a paste, and apply it to the face after cleansing. Lie down flat and apply more paste to areas prone to wrinkles, such as the corners of the eyes and forehead. Then cover with a warm towel and wash off after 1 hour. However, if you have sensitive skin, it is recommended to test for allergies on the hand or behind the ear before applying.
