Some people often experience symptoms such as stomach pain and indigestion in winter, attributing it to cold stimulation, and believe it will improve in summer.
However, now that summer has arrived, symptoms like diarrhea and decreased appetite have started to appear frequently, which is mostly due to pi xu wei han (Spleen Yang Deficiency and Stomach Cold).
Pi Xu Wei Han:Refers to the syndrome characterized by deficiency of Yang Qi in the Spleen and Stomach, with excess Yin Cold. The cold climate in winter affects the body, while in summer, air conditioning and excessive consumption of cold foods can trigger old stomach issues.
These Symptoms Are Often Caused by Pi Xu Wei Han
1. Stomach Pain:Often occurs as a dull pain in the stomach after consuming cold or stimulating foods or after overeating.
2. Poor Appetite:Constant lack of appetite, unable to eat much even when hungry, sometimes accompanied by nausea and regurgitation.
3. Cold Extremities:Due to the Spleen and Stomach’s inability to properly transform and transport food, leading to poor digestion and, over time, nutritional imbalance, resulting in cold limbs.
4. Accompanied by Menstrual Irregularities:Women may also experience menstrual irregularities and other discomforts such as thin leukorrhea.
5. Loose Stools:Imbalance of Spleen Yang leads to inability to transform food, resulting in decreased digestive function and subsequently loose stools.
Note:The above are common symptoms of Pi Xu Wei Han. For the elderly, long-term indigestion and diarrhea can lead to other complications, so it is important to seek active treatment, especially during the summer, to effectively manage winter diseases.
