❀Causes of Spleen Yin Deficiency:

2. Improper feeding, excessive consumption of warming foods such as beef and lamb.
❀Formula to Nourish Spleen Yin:
Ingredients:
Huai Shan Yao (Chinese Yam), Lian Zi Rou (Lotus Seed), Yi Yi Ren (Job’s Tears), Mai Dong (Ophiopogon), Sha Shen (Glehnia), Sheng Di (Rehmannia). For a six-year-old child, the dosage is: 9 grams each of Huai Shan Yao, Lian Zi Rou, and Yi Yi Ren; 6 grams each of Mai Dong, Sha Shen, and Sheng Di; one piece of rock candy.
Preparation:
Put these herbs into a pot, add four cups of water, and boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce to low heat and simmer for half an hour. Approximately two cups of liquid should remain. Strain the liquid, add a piece of rock candy, and let it cool.
Note:
1. This soup is sweet and children love it; it can be consumed like a beverage at any time. One dose per day is sufficient, to be taken continuously for one to two weeks. If used for nourishing spleen yin after a cold, five doses will suffice.
2. Adults with spleen yin deficiency, experiencing dry mouth, red tongue, dry eyes, and hot palms, can also benefit from this drink.
