【Formula Analysis】For exterior wind-heat, with simultaneous invasion of Wei Qi, treatment should primarily focus on clearing heat and releasing the exterior, dispersing warmth and detoxifying. Therefore, this formula uses Shigao and Zhimuh to clear the excess heat in the Qi level, generate fluids, and relieve irritability, serving as the monarch herbs. Jinyinhua, Lianqiao, Banlangen, and Tiandiding clear epidemic toxins and resolve both exterior and interior conditions, enhancing the efficacy as minister herbs. Zhizi, Huangqin, and Longdan clear interior heat and cool the blood to detoxify; Maidong, Xuanshen, and Dihuang clear heat, generate fluids, and benefit the throat, serving as assistant herbs. The combination of these herbs works together to disperse wind, release the exterior, clear heat, dispel epidemics, detoxify, benefit the throat, and generate fluids to quench thirst.
【Functions and Indications】Clears heat and detoxifies. Used for fever, red face, irritability, thirst, and sore throat caused by excessive heat toxin; applicable for influenza and upper respiratory infections presenting these symptoms.
【Dosage Form Specification】Oral liquid, 10 ml per vial.
【Dosage and Administration】Orally. 10-20 ml per dose, three times a day; dosage for children should be adjusted, or as directed by a physician (higher doses may be required for more severe symptoms).
