Daily Classics of Traditional Chinese Medicine

This course is taught by Professor Zhang Dengben from Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The “Huangdi Neijing” is divided into two parts: “Lingshu” and “Suwen”, and is one of the earliest medical texts in China, as well as one of the four classic works of traditional medicine. The content of the “Huangdi Neijing” is extensive, recording not only medical theories but also knowledge and achievements from ancient philosophy, astronomy, meteorology, phenology, biology, geography, mathematics, sociology, psychology, and musicology. The “Huangdi Neijing” is the earliest and most influential medical classic that exists in China today. Its compilation marks the formation of the theoretical system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), laying a solid foundation for the development of TCM over the years. It holds an important position in the history of Chinese medicine and is revered by later generations as the “ancestor of physicians”.
