Public account introduction: Traditional Chinese Medicine changes us, and we change our lives.
In life, we inevitably experience the seven emotions and six desires: joy, anger, anxiety, worry, sadness, fear, and surprise. Anger is a normal emotional response that arises from the liver’s Qi reacting to external stimuli. However, excessive anger or pent-up frustration can damage the liver, causing harm to our bodies in a “comprehensive” manner. When we are angry, we feel Qi and blood rushing to our heads, our faces flush, and our emotions fluctuate greatly. This process not only harms the heart and liver but also increases the likelihood of stomach diseases, uterine fibroids, breast hyperplasia, thyroid nodules, hyperthyroidism, pigmentation, cerebral infarction, and myocardial infarction.
Psychologists have analyzed cases and found that the physical and mental consumption caused by one hour of anger is equivalent to working overtime for six hours. However, what is more serious than anger is that many people choose to “suppress their anger.” The pent-up emotions can lead to Qi stagnation and blood stasis.
All diseases begin with Qi In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the liver is responsible for the smooth flow of Qi. When liver Qi flows smoothly, the entire body’s meridians, organs, and orifices are coordinated. If liver Qi becomes stagnant, it hinders the flow of blood. The liver also stores blood, regulates blood volume, and prevents bleeding. When Qi stagnates, blood does not flow, leading to blood stasis, which acts like a roadblock, obstructing the flow of blood. Many diseases arise from imbalances in Qi and blood, and disharmony between Yin and Yang; when Qi is stagnant, pain ensues.
Are you experiencing Qi stagnation and blood stasis? It manifests as follows: Qi stagnation: Frequent sighing, chest tightness, abdominal bloating and pain, belching, introverted personality, depression, fixation on problems, and abdominal pain or diarrhea when angry; women may experience breast tenderness. Blood stasis: Purple nails, lips, and complexion; body aches or lumps; dark circles under the eyes; development of melasma; women may experience dysmenorrhea with dark blood clots or amenorrhea, and a tongue with blood stasis.
Regulate Qi and invigorate blood Use this Chinese patent medicine effectively If you have Qi stagnation and blood stasis, you must know about the Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction (Blood Mansion Eliminating Stasis Decoction) from the book “Yilin Gai Cuo.” This formula regulates Qi and invigorates blood. Baicao Jun has introduced this herbal medicine many times, so I will not elaborate on the formula here. For those interested, please “click the blue text on the right” “Xuefu Zhuyu Wan can treat more than 19 diseases.” Baicao Jun wants to emphasize that Xuefu Zhuyu Wan can adjust several conditions caused by Qi stagnation and blood stasis after anger. 1 Chest pain and headache, with fixed pain The “Blood Mansion” refers to the heart. In TCM, the chest is where blood gathers, and it is also where blood stasis accumulates. When there is obstruction, there is pain. Whether it is a headache, rib pain, stomach pain, or back pain, as long as there is a stabbing pain, Xuefu Zhuyu Wan can help. 2 Hiccups and dry heaving The left and right Qi gates are connected to the heart through a trachea. When blood stasis obstructs, it compresses from the outside in, causing Qi to rise and resulting in hiccups. This is due to the liver wood counteracting the spleen earth, causing stomach Qi to rise. In addition to hiccups, acid reflux, dry heaving, and vomiting can also be treated.3 Women’s emotional issues and menstrual problems For women, stagnant liver Qi can also affect the reproductive system. Qi stagnation and blood stasis can easily lead to infertility, scanty menstruation, lower back pain, blood clots, chest tightness, dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, pelvic inflammation, and blocked fallopian tubes. If there is significant blood stasis under the tongue, breast hyperplasia, purple menstrual blood with clots, and pain in the lower abdomen, this formula can be used. 4 Melasma Melasma is often caused by kidney deficiency, blood deficiency, and spleen deficiency with excessive dampness. Liver Qi stagnation and blood stasis are also contributing factors. For conditions leading to melasma due to Qi stagnation and blood stasis, this pill is the best choice.
For friends who are slow to react during arguments
Prepare a “venting point”
If you are always slow to respond during arguments and feel you did not perform well afterward, you can press and rub the “Shanzhong” (中) point, which has the function of regulating the body’s Qi. If there is lung Qi not descending, heart Qi stagnation, or liver Qi stagnation, pressing this point can help dissipate the pent-up emotions, making you feel less anxious. If you want to vent your anger through daily diet, you can choose teas like Buddha’s hand, jasmine, chrysanthemum, hehua (lotus flower), and rose; to reduce liver fire, you can eat rapeseed, loofah, and hawthorn; to soothe the liver, you can eat radishes, tomatoes, and pomelos.
Finally, Baicao Jun wants to remind everyone why the ancients advocated “self-cultivation and nurturing one’s nature.” This is because controlling one’s spirit and handling various matters with stable emotions, along with an open and optimistic attitude, truly contributes to longevity. Reducing anger is the best way to maintain health!
